The smear campaign against Herman Cain is the exact same kind of smear campaign the media ran against Jack Ryan. Had Jack Ryan not been taken out, we would never have had a Senator Obama, and without a Senator Obama we would never have had a President Obama.
Ryan married actress Jeri Ryan in 1991; together they have a son, Alex Ryan. They divorced in 1999 in California, and the records of the divorce were sealed at their mutual request. Five years later, when Ryan's Senate campaign began, the Chicago Tribune newspaper and WLS-TV, the local ABC affiliate, sought to have the records released. On March 3, 2004, several of Ryan's GOP primary opponents urged release of the records.[5] Both Ryan and his wife agreed to make their divorce records public, but not make the custody records public, claiming that the custody records could be harmful to their son if released. On March 16, 2004, Ryan won the GOP primary with 36 percent to 23 percent against Jim Oberweis who came in second.[6] Obama won the Democratic primary, with 53 percent to 23 percent against Dan Hynes, who came in second.
On March 29, 2004, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert Schnider ruled that several of the Ryans' divorce records should be opened to the public, and ruled that a court-appointed referee would later decide which custody files should remain sealed to protect the interests of Ryan's young child.[7] The following week, on April 2, 2004, Barack Obama formally established his position about the Ryans' soon-to-be-released divorce records, and called on Democrats not to inject them into the campaign.[8] The Ryan campaign characterized Obama's stance as hypocritical, because Obama's alleged backers had been emailing reports about the divorce records prior to Judge Schnider's decision.[8]
In May 2004, two polls were conducted statewide where the Chicago Tribune poll found Ryan trailing Obama 52% to 30% [9] while the Sun Times reported that he was trailing Obama 48 percent to 40 percent in the U.S. Senate race, according to a new Daily Southtown poll of 500 likely Illinois voters [10] [11] On June 22, 2004, after receiving a report from the referee, Judge Schnider released the files that were deemed consistent with the interests of Ryan's young child. In those files, Jeri Ryan alleged that Jack Ryan had asked her to perform sexual acts with him in public in sex clubs in New York, New Orleans, and Paris. Jeri Ryan described one as "a bizarre club with cages, whips and other apparatus hanging from the ceiling."[12][1]
The decision to release these files generated much controversy because it went against both parents' direct request, and because it reversed the earlier decision to seal the papers in the best interest of the child. Jim Oberweis, Ryan's defeated GOP opponent, commented that "these are allegations made in a divorce hearing, and we all know people tend to say things that aren't necessarily true in divorce proceedings when there is money involved and custody of children involved."[1]
Prior to release of the documents, Ryan claimed he had told leading Republicans that the divorce file could cause problems for his campaign.[13] After the documents were released, GOP Chair Judy Baar Topinka said of Ryan's comment "It may have been somewhat misleading."[14] Topinka said after the June 25 withdrawal that Ryan's "decision was a personal one" and that the state GOP had not pressured Ryan to drop out.[15][16] Ryan's campaign ended less than a week after the custody records were opened, and Ryan officially filed the documentation to withdraw on July 29, 2004. The same party leaders who called for Ryan's resignation chose Alan Keyes as Ryan's replacement in the race; Keyes lost to Obama, 27% to 70%.
LMAO!!! Are you kidding???
Go ask your spouse how she would react to finding you were texting a “friend” in the middle of the night and iving her $$$$ for her bills and then you proclaimed there was nothing serious about it.
Troll.
You certainly have high standards when it comes to our guys, but no standards at all when it comes to theirs.
And how exactly do you know that Mrs. Cain did not know that Mr. Cain was helping this woman. You don’t. In fact, you don’t really know anything about what was going on.
I prefer to know facts, not speculation, before I make decisions.
So where are all your posts advocating for the good conservative candidate of your choice? Please don’t expect me to even read, much less care about, anything you post if all you can do is criticize. If you haven’t positively advocated for any GOP candidate at all, then take your talking points elsewhere; I have no use for them.
Thank you for confirming that you’re unable to back up your claim that I’ve been “smearing” Cain.
I really want to know who you are supporting. It appears you aren’t interested in advancing your candidate, only smearing Mr. Cain.
True, true...
Not at all - I recognize how the game is played, and even though it is not fair - it is what it is. We are not going to change that and have to understand what is going on.
To me - getting rid of obama is a historical landslide is more important than anything. That goal and task is bigger than the person doing it.
I have learned not to listen to people whose only talking points are negative. They are miserable, ugly, destructive people. On the other thread, you mocked, demeaned and ridiculed Cain. It was as bad or worse than anything I’ve seen on any liberal site. It was creepy and disgusting.
Now, all of a sudden, you want me to listen to anything you say??? In a word, no. Not unless you can show me an equal number of positive, constructive things you’ve said about your conservative candidate of choice.
Try, for once, to read and understand plain English. If you write back w more liberal drivel—screw it. You’re just a troll-acting if not outright troll poster, and you should find someone who likes that type of input. I do not.
You know, this is what bothers me about the whole accusations. If this man was her boyfriend for 13 years; then are her kids Cain’s kids? Show us the DNA.
Show us the content of those texts. What did Herman say to her. If it was anything personal, you KNOW it would have been plastered all over the news!
I was ready to dismiss this woman as well as the others, for lack of proof, until Cain came out with his statement! His own statement was the most damning evidence against him.
Thank you for once again showing that you are unable to back up your argument about me “smearing” Cain.
I don’t care for Paul’s views on many things.
I think our best bet is Bachmann and Perry shouldn’t be written off. He hasn’t done anything that is unrepairable. All candidates make these mistakes, and then they hopefully learn from them, and go on to do better. If Perry would go to school and brush up on his speaking and world affairs, I think he could pull this out.
Thanks for confirming that you’re only on FR to tear down conservative candidates.
Unless you have a slew of posts advocating conservative candidates you’re coyly hiding somewhere.
Bachmann is getting a lot stronger and so is Hunstman.
There is no perfect one in this race and I dont give a damn about perfection. I want obama gone, and I dont really care who does it at this point!!!
I dont like Newt or Romney at all but will vote for them in the general against Obama.
You've touched on the essence of the problem.
The Main Stream Media can trot out any unsubstantiated allegation(s) about lack of character against Conservative candidates and be assured that many Conservatives will jump or be herded like sheep.
We do know that the Main Stream Media is an arm of the Democrat National Committee (DNC), and they will lie to the public, and particularly to the Republicans to get them to react in a way that they think favors the Democrat party.
After many decades of being lied to by the modern liberal media, you would think that the Conservatives would finally get a clue about the game that is being played on them. However, many do, but many still fall for their lying, and some more are just being disingenuous by promoting unsubstantiated allegations as an opportunity to promote their favorite Repub candidate while criticizing the candidate that's being tard. That's being hypocritical.
As I recall, liberal journalist Paul Krugman of the New York Times once boasted that the media is good for 15% more votes over the Republicans for Democrat candidates and their party. That Krugman boast certianly looks like to be a credible boast right now.
Possibly Sir you should take some remedial reading courses.
Note the first word second line of my posting.
“If any of these are true it puts Mr Cains ability to understand the political realm in dire question.”
I know its a small word you might have missed it.
