Rossi... visited the State House last week ...
Andrea Rossi made the trip at the invitation of the Senates minority leader, Bruce Tarr, a Republican from Gloucester, and met on Tuesday with representatives from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Northeastern University, and the University of Massachusetts.
....
At this point, however, the E-Cat is widely considered to be unproven. Tests have been scarce and secretive, perhaps because Rossi has said that his technology is still unpatented.
Andrea Rossi was invited to Massachusetts by the Senates minority leader, Bruce Tarr (left), a Republican from Gloucester. If it works, I want this technology to be developed and manufactured in Massachusetts, Tarr said of cold fusion.
... Last month, he conducted a test of a small cold fusion power plant in Bologna, Italy, for an unnamed customer, who he said was impressed enough to purchase the unit.
Rossi said he has received orders from 12 more customers.
Tarr, who is active in alternative energy legislation, said he invited Rossi to put the state in line for hosting any prospective development of cold fusion.
Knowing the reputation of cold fusion, I went in with a very healthy level of skepticism, he said.
....
Tamarin said the meeting was mostly used to discuss the possibility of setting up manufacturing, rather than the validity of the science.
Rossi said he was not ready for a full academic investigation of his technology because he doesnt yet have full patent protection, Tamarin said. Thats consistent with it not working, but its also consistent with it working very well.

Yes I am a LENR fan. I see no need to be browbeaten by a seagull.
I don’t recall seeing you on LENR threads before Rossi came along. I doubt you’re a LENR fan. And I have found that you hardly ever get anything right, so there is basically no reason to listen to you about this.
I am not a LENR fan, never said I was.
Just said there is nothing wrong with it.
I am just a science / technology fan but at the same time someone who can smell a scam from half way around the planet.
If you understood more of the science behind it, you could get past the smell of scam. But I don’t hold out any hope for you, this situation will prove itself out long before you develop critical thinking skills.
Therefore you are an anti-constitutionalist. I do not see these science lobbies offering science amendments to the constitution.
For LENR yes, for Rossi no, where there is smoke there is fire.
In this very limited case, yes. I'd prefer to see the issue made constitutional, but what we have works for the nation.
***Exactly. You come from a different world. This is the business world, not the realm of scientists.
Um... because, in your world, the science realm and the business realm never intersect? How odd. Yet, I'm pretty sure that even in your bizarre alternate universe, where science and business are completely separate from each other, laws still govern intellectual property rights. I know they do here in the real world, where science and business have huge areas of overlap.
If the two worlds overlapped so much, there would not be such a discrepancy.
