If they have possession of the ball with the ball in the end zone it’s a touchdown.

I have a question about college rules. If a player fumbles the ball into the end zone from the playing field, is it considered a TD if his team recovers? I thought it was considered a touch back and turn over. TAMU lost in four OT periods on that call last weekend.

Don’t know about college rules, in the NFL the short answer is “it’s complicated”, mostly boiling down to if it’s the final 5 minutes and if the ref rules it’s a forward fumble (which is against the rules in the final 5). In general recovering a fumble in your go to end zone is a TD, except for when it’s a penalty. But that’s the NFL, mostly the same rules as the NCAA except for when they’re massively different.
