Top Ten Most Overrated Actors/Actresses of All Time
big hollywood ^

Posted on 11/20/2011 8:47:17 AM PST by Perdogg

It’s been almost two years since I posted at Big Hollywood regarding the Top 10 Most Overrated Directors of All Time. I’ve had a chance to reflect and think about the crimes I committed in that post. And, to paraphrase Mr. Eko from the greatest TV show of all time, “Lost,” I ask no forgiveness because I have committed no sin … except leaving Spike Lee and Tim Burton off the list, that is.

So, because you all enjoyed that list so much, and because I apparently have a death wish, it’s time for another: The Top 10 Most Overrated Actors/Actresses of All Time

(Excerpt) Read more at bighollywood.breitbart.com ...

I think - as a body of work - Olivier was ok. Certainly better than Garbo, who, tho with a body certainly, shoulda stayed in her native country and done the dishes!

Gary Oldman: half the time you don’t know it’s him until the credits come up — what more could you ask of an actor?

Can't wait to see Oldman as George Smiley in the new Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.

When Wyatt cuffs ol' Johnny Tyler the bully dealer in the Oriental and Johnny hesitates...

Johnny Tyler was played by none other than Billy Bob Thornton.

Natalie Portman's best role was in "The Professional". It's all been downhill since then, in spite of her Oscar (which SHOULD have been given to Jennifer Lawerance foe Winter's Bone)!

As an example of an underrated actor I would go with Val Kilmer.

In The Saint he pulls off a character that plays several characters very convincingly. If you didn't know it was him you'd think they used different actors.

Faye Dunaway was great in Three Days of the Condor.
Streep was haunting in Sophie's Choice.
Hoffman was awesome in Hero.

I forgot one. Apparently this particular "actor" is and always has been so very awful, that I've blotted them out of my mind.

But....a nightmare I had last night has recalled this "actor's" name to my mind.

Without a doubt....worst of all time. Talentless, skill-less, bereft of real humor, a complete waste of time, space, and energy...I give you....woody allen!!!

He's so terrible that had he been born in a foreign country and half black, he'd be named obama!

I disagree, Jack Nicholson is one of my favorite actors. He was incredible in The Shining and I also thought he was excellent in As Good as it Gets with Diane Keaton. I also think Dustin Hoffman is an excellent actor. I particularly liked him in Rainman. Tom Hanks was good in Forrest Gump..that’s it. The others I don’t disagree with.

I can’t remember one memorable performance. Not one. She annoys the heck out of me.

Renee is annoying in 99% of her films ... BUT I thought she was spectacular in Bridget Jones Diary and it was the sleeper film of the year. Loved it. She was Bridget Jones and she made Jones seem real. Excellent acting, cast of characters, funny, entertaining.

The only movie I ever liked with Nicholson was As Good As it Gets with Helen Hunt.
