I have an old, outdated tower I got for a song running my MJ 24/7. It has no other use no important data on it.
I use it, but it takes a few minutes to load every time I turn the computer on. I’ve had problems with over seas calls. Haven’t had one go through. But for $20 a year who cares.
I have an ex who got a Magic Jack Plus and a bunch of batteries and then told me she didn’t need me any more.
Wait, what are we talking about?
Magic Jack Plus?
Is that a new offering from our friends in Lynchburg, Tennessee?
I have had vonage for years now, started at $10 a month now uo to $25 a month. This sounds just like how vonage phones work.
does anyone know a relatively cheap way to forward your home phone number to the magic jack and cancel the home service?
I have both Magic Jack and Magic Jack Plus. Both work well if your DSL line is not overly busy. I frequently use it for three hour conference calls. It will clip voices if you do any heavy upload/downloads during the conversation.
Oh, the magic this does.
My brother got my mom a Magic Jack. It’s ok most of the time, but she doesn’t leave her PC on 24/7, so it isn’t as useful as it could be.
Amazon reviews have indicated that the OBi110 VoIP Telephone Adapter is a much better product.
netTalk DUO same idea a magick jack but plugs in your router/hub.
Works fine for us.
After using the Magic Jack Plus for a few days now, I can say it does (so far) everything that they say it will. Sound quality is no different than a standard phone line and it only took 24 hours to convert my phone number. The only cons to this service that I can see is that you have to dial a one and the area code even for local numbers, and there’s no call blocking feature.
So far, I have to say that I’m an extremely satisfied customer.
