I was once engaged to a Julliard graduate who was about to buy a Prius. Liz was not another simple minded music major, and had a bachelors and masters from the Hart school of Music. ‘Tis a pity she didn’t follow her first inclination to be an engineer, as she would have been a good one.
However, I had a long talk with her about how those whose career depended on intact finger, arm and shoulder musculature and nerves were ill advised to ride around in itty bitty cars with huge batteries underneath them.
She finally decided that large trucks (yup! I used a F-350 diesel dually as an example) were a potential risk to itty bitty cars.
It could have been worse - she could have considered a Yugo. Probably would have, except for Paul Shanklin’s “In A Yugo”.

The missus has a ‘04 Sierra 2500 for ranch work: bringing in a ton of hay at a time, pulling the gooseneck horse trailer, loading a half cord of wood, hauling the garbage to the Athol Mall, er, garbage dump (you neighbor Freepers know what I’m talking about), and on and on. You live on a ranch or in the country, you just need a big ass truck. Or two.
That fat idiot on the YouTube vid can KMA. What’s amazing the utter arrogance and presumption that she could just get in someone’s face like that and walk away unharmed. Won’t always work that way.
Actually the way to shut up the Gorebull fanatics when they get testy like this is to ask them “What is the percentage of CO2 in the atmosphere?” When they say something absurd like 30%, you say “Noooo, it’s ZERO POINT ZERO baby! 0.04% to be exact! You are buying into a scam that has you believing that a gas that makes up ZERO POINT ZERO in the earths atmosphere is somehow raising the temperature of 5000 trillion tons of atmosphere! So STFU!”
I drive a full size van. I get the same type of bs all the time to. Your exhaust stinks, your killing the planet.. blah blah blah.
