Don’t armadillos roll into a ball, leaving only a shell exposed, when they are threatened?
Thank you, yorkie.
I’ll share this with my bride this evening.
Every day!!! There is no better way then to start the day than by reading Gods word. I just Thank you for this thread where I can use my ping list to bring it to people.
At one point I was posting on 5 daily’s. It is down to 2 now, here and the canteen. and this is the only place where I use the ping list.
OMG, Yorkie. Thank you!! Beautiful song and wonderful photographs.
Brought tears to my eyes as it brought back so many memories. Fun memories and sad memories.
I have been scanning old family photos and remembering our baby daughter who is no longer with us. And remembering JustJr and his childhood ... long hair and all. :)
I am sure she will enjoy listening to those ‘oh so true’ words, as she sits next to her guy!
I too, love looking at pictures of my family and loved ones, from ‘days gone by’, and letting those memories come flooding in!
I’m glad you enjoyed it, Amy!
LOL, Teenie!
My aunt had an LLadro like that, once.
I haven’t seen all the thread yet, only some of it. As I said last night, today was a very busy day and I’m waiting now for the man to come from Charter and either fix my telephone for good or get it out of here.
I will try to finish looking at the whole thread if I can. I certainly enjoyed what I did get to see, friends. Thanks to all! (((((HUGS))))))
We need a like button here on FR... : )
That is so funny and one of the cutest graphics and poems I’ve ever seen. Just adored it, Amy! Thank you all!
LOL! We sure do, Rus!!
I remember the first time I saw Alan Jackson perform that song on TV, he actually had tears in his eyes. (It hits home with a lot of us, doesn’t it?) Then I read about when and why he wrote it and understood the tears.
You go, gal! I get tired of the phone company’s lousy excuses
for why service is so bad! Geeeeeez!
Reminds me of the movie ‘Homeward Bound’ when Chance took on a porcupine...lol. Poor doggie!
: )
Prayers Continuing for Dubya and Diver Dave.
(((((God Bless All Dear FRiends)))))
I scooped her up as quick as I could but he got her first...lol. Didn't do much but scare the life out of her..and me! He came at me but I kicked at him so he went after some other gal that was standing there watching!
OLD DOG IN A LOCKET
Old dog in a locket That lies next to my heart
I will always love you As I did right from the start
You were right beside me Through the darkest of my days
It was your kind and gentle nature That made me want to stay
Now I hold you in my arms Your breath still warm against my hand
Our hearts still beat together And I wonder if you understand
Through the hours that I held you Before the light did leave your soul
I knew a way to keep you Forever in my hold
I snipped the hair from around your eyes So I would always see
The beauty that surrounds me Even in times of need
I snipped the hair from around your ears So I would always hear
Music in the distance To quiet any fears
I snipped the hair from across your back
To bring me strength in time of need
And the power of your essence Would always be with me
I snipped the hair from around your heart That beat in time with mine
So I would know that love would find me At some distant time
And so, your life slipped out of mine On a quiet spring like day
But I knew that a part of you Old dog in a locket
That lays next to my heart I will always love you
Even though we had to part

The Clothesline Said So Much
A clothesline was a news forecast
To neighbors passing by.
There were no secrets you could keep
When clothes were hung to dry.
It also was a friendly link
For neighbors always knew
If company had stopped on by
To spend a night or two.
For then you'd see the fancy sheets
and towels on the line;
You'd see the comp’ny table clothes
With intricate design.
The line announced a baby's birth
To folks who lived inside
As brand new infant clothes were hung
So carefully with pride.
The ages of the children could
So readily be known
By watching how the sizes changed
You'd know how much they'd grown.
It also told when illness struck,
As extra sheets were hung;
Then nightclothes, and a bathrobe, too,
Haphazardly were strung.
It said, “Gone on vacation now”
When lines hung limp and bare.
It told, “We're back!” when full lines sagged
With not an inch to spare.
New folks in town were scorned upon
If wash was dingy gray,
As neighbors raised their brows, and looked
Disgustedly away.
But clotheslines now are of the past
For dryers make work less.
Now what goes on inside a home
Is anybody’s guess
I really miss that way of life.
It was a friendly sign
When neighbors knew each other best
By what hung on the line!
