Ditto! My first car had the switch there...would prefer it even today.

my uncle had a 48 (or 49) nash that had 2 of them. 1 was for high beams on\off, the other was to change the radio station.

That’s fine in the family sedan with an automatic tooling around town, but it sucks with a stick when you’re on a twisty road at night.
