Still around, but disappearing. I wanted to do some railroad car ones, but that’s too esoteric.

Slightly off track but one of the irritations of driving in the left lane ala England and much of Asia, is having the turn signal and the wiper reversed. I spend the first two weeks in Asia turning on the wipers instead of signaling a lane change or turn and then on my return, I have the cleanest windshield in town for two weeks.

Funny thing is that that isnt even that old of a car (80s Id guess) Its new enough for the fuse box to be on the dash.Looks a lot like the 74 Malibu I used to drive.

So true. The wire between one six volt battery and the other caught fire one night, and I knew I had a gas tack seam leak that I had meant get fix the next week -- the seam is right there behind the two batteries, behind the seats. I immediately pulled over in front of a famous person's house, yanked off the cover and brutally pulled the damn burning cable apart by hand. Unfortunately the famous person wasn't home and so I had to bother a non-famous person to call for a tow. That was in the era before cell phones.
My then ultra pregnant wife did not get her moo goo gai pan take out for about two hours after I left for it.
Three years later I had to get rid of the B, since you, or at least me, can't have a B (or any high-maintenance car) and raise high-energy boy twins.

I had a 1953 Nash that had one of those Under the clutch pedal. It was the starter. You had to smash the clutch down to start the engine, thus avoiding starting with the car in gear.

Okay, I'm 39, but that's under 40.

The M 151 Jeep from the 70’s was set up like that. They also had a tendency to try and flip at any thing over 40 MPH.
