Steelers come in at #5. Love it; way to stick it in Dan Rooney’s eye.
I’m kinda sure that the 46% is all Rooney hehe
“Crony Capitalism” at its finest. ;-)
Let’s see let’s take the Limbaugh environmentalist whacko approach:
Republican Donations:
Who are the Texans? Evil white men.......who pollute the air with their petrochemicals, which lead to global warming, and slaughter cattle.
What are Jets? They pollute the air with carbon and cause global warming.
What are Steelers? - Steel plants pollute the air and create global warming.
Now the Democrat donations:
What are Dolphins - Sweet innocent animals who are slaughtered by evil fishermen using tuna nets.
and the Fins are dead last. They really are gunning for Andrew Luck in the draft.
I’ve heard that the rest of the Rooneys are conservative and are not happy with his antics. Not sure how true that is though.
Come on over to the right side! Go Texans!
I don’t know if they’re going to beat out the Vikes in the Luck sweepstakes.
Nicely done
Booooo-ooooooo-waaaaaa-haaaaaaa-haaaaaaa....
Amen! As a Steeler fan, I was disgusted by Rooney’s ignorance.
..OK< I’m for the Texans now LOL go Schaub?
Dan's a jackass. What he did was disrespectful to the fans: sports should be a place where you can get away from politics and everything else [this is one of the reasons I despise ESPN so much.] The Steeler Nation is all over the country and the world, and the highest concentration of it is all of Western PA, part of Eastern Ohio, and West Virginia. Most of that is not liberal country; even Allegheny County isn't as Democrat as it once was. So, knowing that you're going to alienate more than half of your fans you wave the bloody shirt in their faces. Just insulting and rude.
See #16. Not all of the Rooney’s are bad.
I have to say it is pretty astounding to see the amount of money given by the Texans - it is almost double what any other team gave.....I thought we were just a bunch of dumb underpaid slubs down here?
You’re dead on.
Western Pa is an area that is more conservative than its voting patterns indicate. The Pittsburgh metro area actually votes pretty conservatively compared to most other northern cities, but there are a lot of people who live and act like conservatives but still pull the D lever anyway. A lot of these Dems are union guys and old people brainwashed by the media, not so much the latte-sipping liberal types you’d see in places like San Francisco and Manhattan. These people are starting to realize that the Democratic party left them, and Western Pa is slowly becoming more and more Republican.
Obama was never particularly popular in Western Pa, and he continues to become even more and more disliked. Rooney’s continual chumming with him was a terrible decision.
Texans get in there.
