Not all of those who supported Palin are “deranged”. However, if you were honest you would have to admit that some of her fans carried things to truly bizarre degrees, putting an inordinate amount of faith in the poor woman. She was and is a mere mortal.
I DO have a lot of faith and trust in her myself. But it always was a niggling worry that this may be too much for her young girls. Her decision is sad beyond measure, and it’s not going to ever feel better. The time will come when I might be able to focus on Cain or another decent candidate, but it’s going to be difficult to feel real excitement about any of these people, who are so far away from the best we could have had.
