The absolutely incredible and historic opportunity presented to you has now been squandered. Governor, what was the point? You accomplished great things (for which I thank you) after resigning but keep in mind that the reason for the support was that people believed you were going to run for President yourself. Do you honestly believe that people and supporters surfaced for any other reason? You allowed the 'illusion' to continue knowing full well you were not going to run..
Some people uprooted their lives and some, spent their savings because of the belief they had in you. You would have been one of the greats Governor; you could have help to right this magnificent ship we call the United States of America, but instead, like any other politician, you hide behind others and use them as your excuse to not run.
Your fellow countrymen/women called on you and you led all of us on a wild goose chase ending with a wimpish letter declining to run. I'm sorry for you; I’m more sorry for my country. I’m glad & eternally grateful that men going into World War II didn’t refuse because their children begged them not to go; we’d all be speaking german now and ignoring the slaughter of undesirables if they had.
Family loyalty is a wonderful thing Governor, but without our mangificent country the family unit will be reduced to nothing.
President Palin would have been far more effective than Citizen Palin. In the end it turns out that you are just another politician.

It's not just that Bristol said that she "knew what she was thinking".
When blindsided by an unexpected question, "Has your Mom not made up her mind yet or does she know and has not told us", a politically naive Bristol did not only say that Sarah "definitely knew" what her final decision was. Most importantly, Bristol said,
"We (Bristol and Sarah) have talked about it before but,..umm.. (in a very uncomfortable tone of voice with visible wincing) some things just need to stay in the family.".

There is simply no rational explanation why a politically naive Bristol would:
1.) Lie about having talked about the final decision with her own mother on national TV.
2.) Visibly cringe when, in an extremely awkward tone of voice, she then explained that she cannot say what the final decision was because "Some things just need to stay in the family".
Look at the body language of Bristol when she has to say the words "Some things just need to stay in the family".
Bristol said that she talked to her own mother, heart to heart, that her mother said A and that A was of such importance that it was made clear that A "Just needs to stay in the family" and not be shared with any outsider.
You are saying that you heard a politician on TV say B.
What a daughter hears, straight from her own mother's mouth, as an important family secret that must not be shared outside the family carries far more weight than what a voter hears from a politician on TV.

Yes, she is more media savvy now than she was 3 years ago, and likely would avoid hypothetical questions in a more diplomatic way, but this is an example of just one of the many hit pieced on Palin that began immediately after she was named as McCain’s running mate.
Meanwhile, compare the Transcripts of Gibson’s interview with Obama and notice that he lobbed Obama softballs while during the Palin interview, he threw 99 MPH fastballs at her head.
Also a subtle trick ABC did during the interview was to zoom the camera way in on Palin’s face, filling the entire screen with her face which makes the viewer feel uncomfortable, even queasy.
If you can find the interview online, watch it on a big screen. The effect it has on the viewer is noticeable, as it has an unsettling effect, not to mention the way Gibson looked down upon her, but didn’t do so when interviewing Obama, practically bowing down to him as Brian Williams did.
Also notice that this was not done to anyone but Palin by the media.
Media bias is not always obvious and most times, it is not noticeable, but the camera angle, tonality, etc...has an effect on the viewer.
Print media bias is far easier to catch, as demonstrated in the article link above.

No one has themselves to blame. Palin ran for President from the get go. From her resignation speech right through this past summer. She made policy speeches, went on shows, interviews and met with Benjamin Netanyahu and hired advisers from the Reagan administration. Palin herself fueled the speculation. Palin could have put a halt to the talk herself but she chose to inflame it. Did you see her speech in WI on 4/15? Famous last words: “Game On”.
Blaming supporters for feeling betrayed is wrong.
Saying “Game On” can have a lot of meanings.
If you took it to mean that she is running for POTUS, then that’s on you.
Like I said, it’s her life, her choice.
Not yours or that of anyone else.

Palin explored the option of running and decided against it.
Her advisers probably told her the MSM will never allow her to win.
If the MSM convinced the public to vote for an inexperienced fool instead of a man that has served our Country honorably for nearly 50 years in the military and in politics, they would make the last 3 years of attacks on Palin look like child’s play.
The MSM has proven that they will lie and flat-out fabricate stories in order to marginalize Palin.
I just read a Transcript of the Charlie Gibson interview and how it was sliced and diced to make Palin look bad, and how she wanted to “go to war with Russia”
As much as I wanted her to run, it would mean 4 more years of Obama.
Palin likely put the interests of her Country and her family ahead of her own political aspirations.
Yes, we need someone like Palin in the WH, but the MSM will never, ever allow her a successful run at it.
She should concentrate her efforts on ridding the GOP of RINO’s and Corruption and replacing them with TP candidates.

I, too am a Christian and social conservative who did not support Palin. In fact, you and I had a conversation on Free Republic regarding that very same topic some time ago. I’m embarrassed for you.
I didn’t say there were not exceptions. But I still believe most of the hatred was directed at her faith more so than at her.
Jesus himself warned that these things would happen.
If she knew in June, it was the best-kept secret in the world.
I believe she carefully weighed her options and gave it careful thought up until the last minute.
Why else wait this long?

I believe in June she intended to run, but after careful consideration and the drop dead date fast approaching, she made her decision within the last week or so.
It was probably a very difficult decision for her to make as she had so many supporters out there wanting her to run, but I’m sure Palin thought this out carefully before stating she wouldn’t run.
Her poll numbers weren’t that great either and that probably had a say in her decision as well.
While Palin’s support runs deep, it just isn’t wide enough to get her elected and she had to face that fact.
While many here would love to see her in the WH, there are others with more power, such as the MSM, that doesn’t.
Like I said, you can’t fight City Hall, just like you can’t fight an unhinged, rabid media that has a demonstrable hate of Sarah Palin and has proven it over the past 3+ years.
When she gave her acceptance speech, I predicted the MSM would destroy her.
They will likely try to do the same with Cain as having a Black conservative in the WH might be worse to them than having a female conservative in the WH
How will they ever play the race card against the TP if we elect Cain?
Taking away one of their main weapons is something they will fight to avoid from happening.
All they are left with is the class warfare card, as proven by the fawning that they are engaging in over these hippies demanding that their school loans be forgiven and that they should get a bunch of free stuff at the expense of others.
Like I said, Palin is “damaged goods” not in reality, but in perception, and perception often equals reality in the minds of many.

I don't know if she would have won, but I would have enjoyed that race very much. It would have been game changing.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the reaction of some posters, but I am. Palin has had her life turned upside down the last three years. She played a decisive role in the (historic) 2010 election.
Yet some are all wee-weed up because she's not running for Prez. Reading the posts I recognize some kind of twisted sense of entitlement...much like when she resigned the Gov's post. How DARE she not bankrupt her family and finish the term!
Palin has done more than her part, certainly much more than the self-appointed judges of political virtue posting here.

If you truly think most of the criticism of Gov. Palin was because of her faith, I fear you’re woefully naive. It would be like saying the opposition to Barry is because he’s black. It’s just silly.
Not all of those who supported Palin are “deranged”. However, if you were honest you would have to admit that some of her fans carried things to truly bizarre degrees, putting an inordinate amount of faith in the poor woman. She was and is a mere mortal.

SP faded the heat for the last 3 years, countering every move by this godforsaken aadministration with a well-timed counterpoint, that resonated and drove the left and the administration absolutely nuts.

I DO have a lot of faith and trust in her myself. But it always was a niggling worry that this may be too much for her young girls. Her decision is sad beyond measure, and it’s not going to ever feel better. The time will come when I might be able to focus on Cain or another decent candidate, but it’s going to be difficult to feel real excitement about any of these people, who are so far away from the best we could have had. Finally you and I agree on something! It was hers for the taking, but she opted out. I don’t blame her. I have one kid left at home out of 4 and it’s all I need right now.
Outlaw Woman, you are right. SHE fueled the speculation, and I feel as if I have wasted my time talking about her on radio and touting her to everyone. She could have declined to run many months ago, and there wouldn’t have been any of the feelings of betrayal and bitterness. Sadness yes, of course. I feel terribly for those who poured millions in dollars and hours investing in her.
The only bright spot is that we have better candidates than would have remained in 1980 had Reagan tragically bowed out. (I’M NOT TALKING PERRY!) The downside is, I don’t think that any of them, including Cain, have a snowball in hell’s chance against Romney. And, they are not Sarah. Bob
