Governor Palin

Posted on 10/06/2011 7:00:39 PM PDT by Outlaw Woman

The absolutely incredible and historic opportunity presented to you has now been squandered. Governor, what was the point? You accomplished great things (for which I thank you) after resigning but keep in mind that the reason for the support was that people believed you were going to run for President yourself. Do you honestly believe that people and supporters surfaced for any other reason? You allowed the 'illusion' to continue knowing full well you were not going to run..

Some people uprooted their lives and some, spent their savings because of the belief they had in you. You would have been one of the greats Governor; you could have help to right this magnificent ship we call the United States of America, but instead, like any other politician, you hide behind others and use them as your excuse to not run.

Your fellow countrymen/women called on you and you led all of us on a wild goose chase ending with a wimpish letter declining to run. I'm sorry for you; I’m more sorry for my country. I’m glad & eternally grateful that men going into World War II didn’t refuse because their children begged them not to go; we’d all be speaking german now and ignoring the slaughter of undesirables if they had.

Family loyalty is a wonderful thing Governor, but without our mangificent country the family unit will be reduced to nothing.

President Palin would have been far more effective than Citizen Palin. In the end it turns out that you are just another politician.

If she runs as a VP...

I’ll vote against the ticket.

LOL - as if you were ever going to do anything else.

But hey, if that's the meme of the day, go for it.

Good Lord. She already is historical and I love the woman and would have been proud to vote for her in the primary and general. However, she decided not to run for President and guess what? I don't blame her one bit.....it is a crummy job and is not worth the hassle. Sorry but that is how I feel. I seriously would not want the job even if it paid 1 trillion dollars a year. I am serious. I could care less about the perks. I have eaten in fancy places, stayed at exclusive hotels, went on a first class Baltic cruise and guess what? All that exclusivity is boring after awhile. Sure your first time eating at a swanky restaurant is exciting but the second time it gets old quick!!!! Would not want the job EVER!!!!

I’m a little sick of people whining because Sarah Palin didn’t live up to their beliefs. They chose to be disciples of a woman who never claimed to be the messiah and now suddenly its her fault.

Frankly, anyone who spent their savings or left their home for Sarah Palin needs their head examined and I like the woman.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

+1

She is better where she is. And in short order, I suspect she will endorse Cain.

But she will also support whomever ultimately is the nominee.

But it’s going to be Cain.

Has it crossed your mind that maybe we the people are not ready to fight the war to take back this country? It seems to me too many of us want to sit back and hope some miracle person like Palin or another will appear like a knight in shining armor to fight our battle for us. We did not stand and fight for her when the media so savagely attacked her and her family and that may have had a lot to do with her decision. I think maybe she was hoping conservatives would stand up and be ready to fight their way through this and may have decided we just weren’t ready to fight yet. Even great leaders have to have people ready to follow or stay out of the way. Not enough people stood up for her an many who claim they are conservatives joined in the attacks on her because she wasn’t conservative enough.

Your analogy to WWII soldiers is funny, they didn’t go to war alone and they had tons of support on the home front. They also didn’t have American’s joining in battles against them because they weren’t perfect soldiers.

“In the end it turns out that you are just another politician.
“The truth is, they’re ALL just another politician...and we should never forget it.”

Excuse me? And what are you, what are we? Just another poster, just another anonymous, faceless keyboard commando hiding behind a screen name!

Have you ever put your life, or your family’s life, or your personal finances on the line for the public good? Ever gotten into the arena? Why not? If you haven’t and until you do, don’t even think of badmouthing SP, or any other pol who faces the slings and arrows of a fickle public. The fickleness here of certain SP devotees has been shameful.

You supported her because she is brilliant and very wise. Trust her decision, you were ready to trust her with nukes, trust her with this.

We now have to move on. Personally I hate it because with Palin, I truly believed that there was someone who ‘got it’. Apparently not...

She has crippled herself and will find that out when she goes out and tries to rally people in the same way she did this summer.

Why don't you burn your pictures of her, too? And scribble her picture out of your yearbook, as well. You know, at the end of the day it's so sad that you have to move on. Does this mean Sarah can't wear blue and yellow anymore?

Bwahahahaha!

Right.

The mission now is to choose between Cain or Perry. I am coming down closer to Cain because I think he handles himself under pressure better than Perry, but I don’t have time for people that feel Perry’s immigration policy is a deal killer.

At this stage, if we don’t unite behind one of those two, we’re going to get stuck with Romney by default, which would be worse than McCain.

Not only is he a RINO, he can not win the general. The media already has a sufficient number of poisoned sharpened daggers to stick in his back should he somehow get nominated.

Naps (((hug))).

The point is she could have put all the speculation to rest. She knew exactly what she was going to do and yet continued to lead many on. Believe me, I was one of her staunchest supporters along with my entire family.

Palin blew the opportunity that her supporters handed to her. It is what it is. Like my post or not that’s the truth.

Indeed. It’s stunning. It’s pathetic.

I am at total peace with this decision, because I’ve always admired Palin but never worshipped her and never invested my hope in her. I don’t do that with people. I invest in ideas. Palin still believes in great ideas - and is still going to work hard for those ideas. I am excited to see what she does.

Meanwhile, those who worshipped her, are going ballistic. So ironic.

Anyone who knows Sarah knows that she understands the stakes in this election and she’s not afraid to take on the big boys, check her record in Alaska on that. However she also knows when the game is rigged, hence her resignation as governor. She knows something now that makes her run for the presidency futile.

"If she couldnt have won, we don;t deserve to win. You know ?"

That is, you know, stupid. Please stop using "we" all of the time as if everyone in this forum was an emotionally wed to Palin as you were.

America deserves to win, and it is going to take every good conservative in the nation to get it done. Stop sobbing and get busy supporting someone who is actually running.

"personally, I think she could have won,. "

Do you honestly believe that she didn't have people polling her numbers? She wasn't going to walk away from a sure presidency. Her negatives were too high.

The number one requirement of my candidate is that they WANT to be president. It’s a long, brutal campaign, and Sarah didn’t want it. It’s an automatic disqualifier in my book. At least I’ve got Cain to fall back on.

That’s over 100 days ago. If Sarah had decided NOT to run, why did she string us along? And how does she still deserve honor & respect if she DID string us along?

Probably so a few here on FR could bash us over the heads with her Sun Tzu brilliance and tear down other candidates.

Sarah was not, nor could ever be, the perfect leader she was made out to be by some folks. The whole thing started reminding me of watching college football fans go crazy about an 18 year old kid who was a highly regarded prospect. It’s not healthy.

Sarah and her family have taken plenty of crap. She has also made plenty of money for it. She will have something to add to the debate and perhaps, when her family is older, she will start the whole thing over. Like I said above, I remember how betrayed I felt when Newt burned out. At least in this instance, Sarah made the decision prayerfully and with her family in mind. Newt’s motive was the worst and I can never forgive him for that.

Obamas negatives are high.. geez Neville Chamberlain.

Her negatives were not based on policies and a 4 year record as President. So any negatives for her would have reversed if she had got in the race and lead the country on the issues that matter.

where is your heart and love of country ?
