She could have been one of the greats; does anyone doubt that?

Yes, I doubt it.

What is amazing is that you would think she could have been one of the greats!

Greats don't quit their offices under pressure.

Somehow I could not see Thatcher being forced out of her office by a bunch of lawsuits.

No, don’t blame Sarah for supporting McCain and getting him reelected.

If she isn't running for President, she will have no influence.

She will disappear.

That is my opinion too. She has learned a lot in the last four years. Her foreign trips to India and Israel were recognized as brilliant and courageous. Just this week, the Jerusalem Post said that Israel and the USA will benefit from her intelligence and courage. Former Maryland Lt. Governor Kathleen Kennedy Townsend wrote a very complimentary editorial in the Washington Post about her speech about crony capitalism.
She has endured every kind of slander and libel, while Republicans have not defended her. The Bushes and Clintons, Obama, and Democrats and RINOs have caused this mess yet the Bushes have insulted her.
She is only 47 years old and have three more children to raise to maturity. Gov. Palin will have four more times to contest the Presidency.
I am very proud of her and I appreciate her taking the fight to our Marxist opponents.

When a bunch of left-wing nuts have dozens of frivolous lawsuits lined up against you which you must pay out of pocket to defend against and the money runs out, what would you do?

Palin did the right thing by putting her family and constituents ahead of her political ambitions, unlike Clinton, who spent 18 months lying to us and in court while AQ planned 9-11

Clinton should have resigned. Instead, he put his own political interests ahead of that of his country and even his own family.

IDK why so many people have such a hard time understanding why Palin resigned - she was in court nearly every day, unable to do the job she was elected to do, so it didn’t really matter if she resigned as she was rendered ineffective as a Governor by spending all her time in court and not in office and being bankrupted by people who exploited the Alaska ethics laws.

Palin turned a potential bankruptcy into Millions of dollars by writing a couple of books, considered a run for POTUS, but decided to put family ahead of her political aspirations, not to mention the never-ending media idiocy and attacks.

She doesn’t owe anyone anything. No one forced you to contribute to her. She didn’t “lead you on” - what are you people, in High School?

I’d like to see any of you Palin critics put up with 1/10 of the media attacks she had to endure.

What the MSM did to her is borderline criminal.

For a hint of what a Palin Presidency would be reported on by the media, read this article:

http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/227515/president-palins-first-100-days-victor-davis-hanson

Let Palin work behind the scenes and elect pro-TP candidates and perhaps run at a later date as she is a young woman and has plenty of time to run for POTUS if she chooses.

My feeling is Palin wants to run the RINOs out of the GOP before making a run, if she chooses to do so.

Wrong. Palin won’t disappear. She will work to rid the GOP of RINO’s and crooks while replacing them with TP candidates.

it was a last minute decision...Palin was planning on running up until about 2 weeks ago. mark my words. There is much she cannot afford to reveal to the public aka her “real” reasons for her sudden shift of plans.

Ultimately GOD said “no” instead of “go” because our country is perhaps...not ready, not deserving of her.

No one is going to care about her after this.

She was considered a powerful voice because it was thought she would run for President.

First, no one should allow themselves to be driven from office.

She could have gotten help from the grassroots if money was the issue.

Second, no one is going to care about anything she has to say anymore, she is no longer a potential Pres. candidate.

Exactly!

I prefer Cain, but if Perry he emerges stronger, he gets my full support. I would expect you to do the same if Cain get it.

There is NO perfect candidate out there. Period. They all have their good points and bad.

She lost my hard working wife, an RN for over 30 years, when she quit the Governor’s job. The explanation was ‘lame’ and my wife told me at that point that Palin will never run for or be president, as millions of working women will never vote for her. I have heard that theme over and over from conservative women I work with.

I hope FR doesn’t continue the ‘will she or won’t she’ with all kinds of other speculations about her future. She is who she is, a person who saw a hot iron and struck. I am glad I didn’t spend a penny on her books, etc.

..personality cults usually end up with grave disappointment at best when things go bad--or worse a psychological Jonestown

SP is a good lady and a patriot. Could be a great leader someday, but not a Messiah.

Go Mr. Cain!

Yeah, there were many that seemed to cross that line from admiration to worship. After reading some of the accounts yesterday, written by some of those people, well it was sad really. But that is the point; she was fully aware of the effect and yet continued.

I maintain she would have been a great President. She will never be President now because this will be one of the things drudged up in any future run. The media will use this and paint an extremely ugly picture of her.

Don't overreact here. She would have been a viable alternative. But in the long view of things at best all she would have done was slow the Socialist Progressive train down a little.
That said when we have the next step of the economic implosion which is coming, and I think something significant will happen before the election, then a candidacy by her might well have given us a stark choice between the failure of the Social Progressives and a chance to really initiate some reform and put this country back on a sound footing for the future.
Palin has left us with a lackluster group none of whom inspire at all and leave me with no enthusiasm at all.
I think wind, lose or draw Palin could have been a game changer but she instead ended up being a tease.

So we have all the excuses coming to the fore front to salve the reality that Palin will not run.

This is what happens when one gets into hero worship. Palin never was any more than an attractive woman who had become the governor of a small populated state.

Palin never asked for anyone to spend their private money and all their time. It was done voluntarily.

This chapter is over.

I say that because she representd conservatism better than anyone.

No she didn't. You were just mesmerized by her beauty. When one got to examining her actual positions, you gave her a pass where if it had been someone else you would have used it as a strike against them. TARP and the demonizing of "Big Oil" comes to mind as well as the taxing of "big oil". We need all the oil big oil can produce.

Like I said, if she looked like Helen Thomas, would anyone have been bamboozled by her?
