Governor Palin

Posted on 10/06/2011 7:00:39 PM PDT by Outlaw Woman

The absolutely incredible and historic opportunity presented to you has now been squandered. Governor, what was the point? You accomplished great things (for which I thank you) after resigning but keep in mind that the reason for the support was that people believed you were going to run for President yourself. Do you honestly believe that people and supporters surfaced for any other reason? You allowed the 'illusion' to continue knowing full well you were not going to run..

Some people uprooted their lives and some, spent their savings because of the belief they had in you. You would have been one of the greats Governor; you could have help to right this magnificent ship we call the United States of America, but instead, like any other politician, you hide behind others and use them as your excuse to not run.

Your fellow countrymen/women called on you and you led all of us on a wild goose chase ending with a wimpish letter declining to run. I'm sorry for you; I’m more sorry for my country. I’m glad & eternally grateful that men going into World War II didn’t refuse because their children begged them not to go; we’d all be speaking german now and ignoring the slaughter of undesirables if they had.

Family loyalty is a wonderful thing Governor, but without our mangificent country the family unit will be reduced to nothing.

President Palin would have been far more effective than Citizen Palin. In the end it turns out that you are just another politician.

Speaking of Newt. Tonight on Hannity, Newt said if elected, in the immediate hours after being sworn in, he would do most all the things I used to say Palin should immediately do if elected. He laid a great many of them out and briefly I was very impressed, then I remembered it was Newt.

He is a brilliant man. He accomplished much as Speaker before he got an itch in his britches. What could have been! Fred Thompson in his prime when he drove his old pickup around Tennessee was a sight to behold too. Those were men with fire. However, just like a pro football player, you can’t recapture or relive your prime and they don’t and won’t.

Romney was able to move primary early, she had little time to organize. Moving primary date did its purpose. They were able to keep her out.

Oh good grief, stop with the excuse making. Palin has had since the end of 2008 to prepare for a presidential campaign in 2012. She had plenty of time, she just didn't want to run. That the primaries moved up had zero to do with it. No one kept Sarah out of the race except Sarah.

Yup, I’m with you.
She definitely played this way too long.
Some people see her as a brilliant genius,
endlessly manipulating the evil media and left.
Perhaps these are the same people that see Obama
as another Einstein. Sorry, not buying it for either
of them.
No more Idols: Conservatives should never be sucked into
personality cults.

A lot of what you say is good food for thought. I completely misjudged Sarah Palin's integrity and honor and sincerity.

The hardest thing for me to swallow today is that the Left & the MSM assessed her character more accurately than I did.

Yea, she has lost a lot of trust and credibility, atleast with me. She is now just a pundit and cheerleader. We have more than plenty of those to go around. Not paying anymore attention to what she has to say.

I wish we had another actual candidate who generates enthusiasm. But we will go with our next best troops.

I dare anyone to walk in her shoes for just one day...

I would volunteer in a heartbeat. I bet she pulled down a few million last year and with her speaking fees she is set for life.

I don’t think that was her primary motivation. However, you have to admit it’s pretty good compensation for dealing with mean people.

I am supporting Cain in the primaries, and will vote for him if he is still in the race by the time my state votes. In 2008, McCain was already considered the nominee by the time our primary rolled around.

No, silly. Not appeasement.

But when you have the Dems coming at your front with a bayonet, your supposed ‘allies’ the Republican establishment thrusting a dagger at your back, and the scum in the media constantly tossing a noose around your neck, all at the same time... it’s a pretty difficult bind. I’ve never known any other politician to start from such a deadly vantage-point.

It might have nonetheless been exhilarating to see Palin do battle in this case, as she’s the best there is in such a situation, but damn. I’d rather see her safely preserved as a populist voice of mid-america, especially once some of these impending economic and social disasters start pounding the country next year. Trust her. The decision was obviously a tough one for her, but it’s ultimately the correct one.

>>> “In the end it turns out that you are just another politician.” <<<

And you’d both be wrong.

Your run of the mill politician doesn’t walk away from the brass ring when it’s within their grasp. Indeed, they’d sell their souls to get it.

Begone, and let posterity forget Ye were my countrymen.

She never promised she'd run for President; she was very honest about the fact that she'd have to give the decision a lot of thought. She told folks she'd make her decision known in the Fall, and that's exactly what she did. I still support her fully, and I suspect many who did before, still do. Even the woman who was in charge of Organize 4 Palin said that she was disappointed that Sarah's not running, she'll still support her in the future, and is thrilled that she got the chance to work for her.

I believe Sarah will continue to make her voice heard on conservative issues, and will continue to work for conservative candidates for Congress in 2012. Who knows what the future holds for her, but I'll continue to watch and listen, and would be proud to support her, if she continues in the vein she's in and decides to run for President in a later election.

She could have been great if she had a political party backing her.

WE were backing her

Sarah Palin has done many of the things that are simply politics as usual. Sure, her biggest fans call some of these things loyalty ... others call her moves brilliant strategy, but in the end it is all about the politics. She is a good conservative, but still a pretty basic politician.

Just watch and see how the ‘Palin’ brand has been diminished. This was her time; this was her opportunity...for her AND for the USA.

Shakespeare took it from the Bible. It is biblical. From the Psalms. At several different places in the Psalms.

You're right..she never promised she'd run for President...but she didn't do anything to stop those expectations now did she?

She may try to continue making her voice heard, but to many, her voice and opinions lost credibility last night.

What I think is this: Palin is going to endorse someone and when she does that person will win the nomination and then the presidency. That person will be Palin-powered but without the Palin-baggage.

I think you’re going to see just how powerful Sarah Palin is.

Sarah Palin can never again be a regular person. Her daughters may be too young to realize that they will forever be derided by the left as the kids of that “joke” who wanted to be VP. It’s not true, but that doesn’t matter to fiends. Life will be worse for them, much worse, but they can’t see that now. Hey, they’re kids. Bob

Sarah Palin DEFINITELY could have won. This is a sad and tragic time for America. We could lose everything we hold dear. So you know, I know exactly your heartache, b/c I’m fighting despair as well. Trust in the Lord. Bob
