What a pack of lies you just posted. WOW.
Uh, OK.
For the ineffectiveness of bilingual education, including several articles of its misapplication, see ProEnglish: http://proenglish.org/images/stories/Capwizalerts/selected%20studies%20fact%20sheet%20.pdf
For more detail about Texas’ bilingual education policy, and how devastatingly bad Texas’ education of language-minority students is, see
http://www.texaspolicy.com/pdf/2009-09-RR01-bilingual-rossell.pdf “To be clear, then, as to the definition: Bilingual education is instruction provided to students in their native tongue in all subjects in a self-contained classroom with other students who speak the same language.”
For a US Supreme Court case which found that bilingual education constituted discrimination on the basis of national origin, see USSC cases Flores v Arizona and Horne v Flores.
To be honest, I’m finding references to Mexico’s program of giving textbooks to US bilingual education programs only in reference to Oregon and Colorado. I worked on the issue professionally, so I remember the shock and outrage of our members when the content of the textbooks was released, but it’s a little difficult finding news stories from 2001-2003, when the program was running.
Here’s an article, about the content of Mexico’s gift to US bilingual education programs. http://24ahead.com/blog/archives/006319.html
I’m finding articles about Minnesota, Oregon, Colorado, Wisconsin, and Florida, but not Texas. But Texas was the largest recipient.
Care to refute a single one?
No?
Didn’t think so.
Here is the deal, no candidate will be a perfect fit.
So, pick ten things that are important to you in a candidate.
Find a candidate that fits all or most of these issues to your satisfaction and vote for them.
Everybody’s ten will be different.
For me Palin was as close as it gets, she has decided to not run, I accept her reasons, so I need to look at the others.
It is not rocket science, but if it is Cain is your guy.
An important thing to note was that Bilingual Education is practiced sporadically across the nation, but Texas and Florida are the two main states that practice it statewide. Texas also has the 2nd most non-English learners. So this program mostly went to Texas, although Charlie Crist is also guilty along with Rick Perry of subverting America.
Where do you want to start?
You’re the one who says it isn’t true. And yet you STILL offer no refutation.
You can’t refute generalities. I provided specific accusations. You dodged the issue.
You want a refutation that Hispanics really aren’t forced to be educated in SPANISH? Seriously? Your claims are absurd. Have you BEEN to a Texas school lately? The kids are taught in English. DUH.
So you do beat your mother! You dodged the issue.
Why? How can he do that? Why would he do that?
What happens to them if they hear English?
What happens if they read English?
What happens if they speak English?
What does Perry do then, does he demand that they stop?
Does he fine them?
As someone who has lived in Texas his whole life, I can tell you it’s worse then you think.
Perry has always been an open borders globalist, among other things.
Perry sucking up to La Raza makes us wonder if he promised to get "raza studies" in Texas schools in exchange for illegal votes.
Anti-Americanism Disguised as Ethnic Studies

...... raza studies, which means race studies, are championed by organizations like the far left organization National Council of La Raza. The raza studies do not simply teach Latino youth about their heritage, it goes well beyond that. The textbooks teach Latino youth that they are mistreated by America, training them to become radical anti-American activists. Textbooks include The Pedagogy of the Oppressed and Occupied America. Another text "gloats over the difficulties our country is having at enforcing its immigration laws." Benjamin Franklin is vilified as a racist. White people are referred to as gringos and oppressors of Latino people. Privilege is described as related to a persons ethnicity.
At a TUSD school board meeting on May 10, one upset mother read excerpts from the textbook An Epic Poem, including, My land is lost and stolen, My culture has been raped .we have to destroy capitalism overthrow a government that has committed abuses .to the bloodsuckers, the parasites, the vampires who are the capitalists of the world: The schools are tools of the power structure that blind and sentence our youth to a life of confusion, and hypocrisy, one that preaches assimilation and practices institutional racism." --SNIP--
This would be mandated in ALL US schools, if, by some fluke, Perry got into the WH.

Don’t worry about it. We all make mistakes in spelling and grammar in order to quickly post something. Thanks for posting.
Rick Perry is my candidate now that Palin has decided not to enter the race. His state is one of the few states creating jobs. He is a lifelong Christian and stands for what I stand for. He may need to strengthen his stand on illegal aliens but if you live in a state with 25% Hispanic, you must learn to treat them humanely and justly. I personally favor a 1950’s style bracero program that lets these hard working people come here and work temporarily with a legal visa, without the fear of being deported. Flame away you Perry haters and criticize his debate performance (after all that is the most important attribute of a President)
Seems to me that there is something very wrong with the picture of someone attacking ANY candidate on their support of the Second Amendment.
I don't recall the freedoms of the 1st and 2nd Amendments being mutually exclusive of one another. Many, MANY Christians enjoy shooting sports, and some, like me, even (GASP!) carry a concealed handgun.
For the record, I'm not a Perry supporter. I was leaning toward him until the "Have no heart" comment.
I do not have a dog in this fight, but your statement about Perry holding a sniper rifle while "preaching Jesus" to you was among the silliest attacks I have seen on these VERY entertaining threads.
Don't forget that Jesus said that he who has no sword should sell his cloak and buy one.
1. Perry refused to allow Hispanics to be educated in English, and preferring Mexico-supplied history books which inculcate them with a hatred of America.
That's funny, b/c the Hispanics here in DFW are taught in English. My good friend teaches ESL here, which teaches english to foreign students. Therefore that point is completely false.
2. Perry violated the spirit and letter of conservative-supported federal law which prohibits giving illegal aliens preference over American students in state-run tuition breaks.
Cite me the federal law that Perry violated. I'm real curious as to what you come up with here. But, to get to your tuition accusation, cite me one single American resident of Texas, who meets Texas' requirements for in-state tuition, who was denied in-state tuition b/c of an illegal. You can't.
3. Perry subverts conservative-supported federal law, by interfering with the construction of the border fence. The law is that it must be built. Incredibly, he claims the reason he opposes it isn't because of his zealous crusade to flood the American job market with cheap labor, but on the grounds that violates private property. But...
Cite me how Perry has stopped the federal government from building a border fence? Now, the federal government has a problem with the issue of building a border wall in Texas due to many issues. I'd like for you to locate me the place in the middle of the Rio Grande where that wall would be built. If you don't want it on the wall, cite me the property owners you would like to eminent domain in order to build the wall. If you want the wall built on private property, explain to me why we would therefore be ceding the Rio Grande to Mexico? If you want the wall build on private property, how do you explain blocking off the ranchers down there from having access to the water?
4. Perry Initiated on the most massive state campaign to subvert private property by abusing eminent domain to try to build a superhighway allowing Mexican truckers and coyotes access to Americas heartland, while denying access to this highway by actual Americans
This is beyond funny. For starters, in the point above you just called for a massive eminent domain action against Texas property owners, but not you're bitching b/c eminent domain would probably be used to build roads. Secondly, cite me one example where Perry would forbid Americans from driving on the tollway. You can't. That's false. Also, Mexican trucks already are allowed to travel into America.
5. Perry opposes the implementation of E-Verify, and feeding his Perrytards with lies and disinformation against E-Verify. Despite years of searching, liberals have yet to find the American who lost his job because of E-Verify. Contrary to Perrytards lies, E-Verify does NOT create any new databases, stores, or even associations for any worker, but merely allows employers to check existing social-security data.
And nobody is stopping businesses from using E-verify. If the program is so popular, then there shouldn't be any issue with businesses voluntarily using it.
I won't call you a liar, b/c you very well could have been misinformed. Now that we have that cleared up, I will count on you to not spread false statements about any of the candidates.
