First Lady Michelle Obama was spotted shopping at Target by an Associated Press photographer who told CBS News he was tipped off that she would be there.
AP photographer Charles Dharapak told CBS News he took the picture at the Target on Route 1 in Alexandria, Virginia.
The first lady's office confirmed that the picture showed Mrs. Obama, though it did not immediately respond when asked if it tipped off Dharapak.
"It is not uncommon for the First Lady to slip out to run an errand, eat at a local restaurant or otherwise enjoy the city outside the White House gates," said Kristina Schake, communications director for the First Lady.

In an interview with CNN, the manager of the Target where Obama shopped said the first lady went unrecognized while she was in the store.
“People did not approach her, she was very incognito,” Maria Panagopulof said. “We didn't realize truly what was happening until she had almost left. The cashier recognized her, but she was very unassuming.”
Panagopulof said the store received no advance of the first lady's trip.
“We did not have advance notice; it was as big a surprise to us as it was to everyone else,” she said.
She continued, “In hindsight, there was a sweep, but it was not obvious to us beforehand. When she left we thought ‘Oh, that's what that was!’”
Yeah, that tall guy is one of their regular detail. I guess he’s the one who’s supposed to take the bullet for Moochie.

There’s a campaign going on, doncha know? She spends millions of tax payer dollars to make trips to Spain and South Africa for herself and three dozen of her closest friends. But she shops at Target? Come on!

Target had a recent release of designer stuff that was a huge hit and mooch probably missed to boat or the focus groups said she seemed too detached and this was their way to make her look like a commoner.
