If my federal income tax drops to 9%, AND my capital gains tax drops to zero, AND my tax on dividends drops to zero according to Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 plan, my purchasing power just tripled based on discretionary money available to me.

So I would be thrilled to pay 9% sales tax in lieu of all those other taxes going away. If this becomes law, the economic boom would be astonishing.

Romney’s immigration position is FAR more conservative than Perry’s and that for me is a big issue.

the guy’s got great ideas and articulates them very well. I think he’d run a tight ship...learn from mistakes in the ‘90s.

I agree Newt won the debate, but then he always does well in debates. What bothers me about him is, he is often perfectly logical and well versed. The out of the blue he totally jumps the shark and goes sit on a couch with Pelosi jawing about the evils of global warming. I just find it very hard to trust his rhetoric when his record is entirely another thing.

Bad news... you’re missing a ‘9.’

Yes they did mention Bachmann. And the Paultards clogged the site, as usual.

I’m for Palin, but keeping an open mind on Perry if it comes to that.

I watched two minutes of the debate. Happened to catch Perry talking about Romney’s flip-flopping. Perry was not doing so well with it.

“So he was for gun control before...after...he was for..against it. And before Obamacare he, before he was for it, and then after he was against it, and ...” (Well - SOMETHING like that - it was all messed up.)

Too bad he couldn’t have caught himself and said something like “I’m sorry, but he flip-flops so much it is REALLY hard to keep straight”.

I don’t think so. Rip socialism out by the roots.

Newt is still the smartest guy on the stage. People forget he was the one who engineered the Revolution of 1994, the first Republican takeover of the House in some 40 years. Although it went astray as time went by, it was an historic achievement.

Remember why it went astray, though. Newt is an idea guy. He didn't have the focus or attention span to consolidate the Revolution of 1994. He got bored and lost interest in administering the Revolution -- and that's when he got into "trouble".

Newt's not a CEO. But he is somebody you want in the "kitchen cabinet".

I thought Fox did a terrific job. I liked the format, liked the debaters, really got a good idea of the folks out there. My first debate, tho I’ve been reading like crazy.

Cain won by far.

The point should be made that Obama used his race to win in 2008. He will use it again in 2012.

Herman Cain would literally neuter the liberals of their one and only BS racist fear card. This of course is secondary to his qualifications and character to be president. Herman clearly stands out as the best candidate.

The most stupid statement tonight came from Chris Wallace when he said; Perry was against “A Border Along The Fence.”

Perry’s debating skills are suspect, as are his mounting issue problems. Romneycare takes the most important issue off the table for Romney. Michelle Bachman is showing a viciousness in her half-truths opportunism, Newt Gringrich is brilliant but is a has been nobody is wanting, the others it doesn’t even matter what I think or anybody else for that matter cuz they aren’t even a blip on the radar screen. Crap. C’mon Sarah we need ya.

Gary Johnson’s joke about his neighbor’s dog was the best line of the debate.

Rush Limbaugh Today: "My dogs have created more shovel ready jobs than Obama."

So, now I know who Gary Johnson's neighbor is. :)

Santorum came across to me as the one farthest from reality. If he thinks we can keep spending Billions every month in Iraq with borrowed money from China with interest to be paid for ever (since budget surpluses can not be seen even with the mightiest of telescopes) then Rick, please disappear back to PA. Protecting oil supplies to China from middle-east where they get majority of their oil by BORROWING money from them is as stupid as it gets. Until our economy is balanced and prospering again, stop the foolish intervention in middle-east wars. These are WARS to NO WHERE.

Newt always sounds good until he jumps the shark. Too bad his record doesn’t match his rhetoric. When it counts, he fades.

Being able to talk conservative and being able to govern as President of the United States are, I believe, two different propositions.

Purists will continue to sputter about his personal life but by next year most voters will be in such a desperate state they won't care. Newt gets it and that's what will count.

If you thing the Christian Right is gonna swallow Gingrich, you've got another think coming... And no one wins without the Christian Right.
