She was born in 1920 in a little community in East Tennessee called Glen Alice.

I've lived in East Tennessee all my life, and that was a new one to me. It's about 45 miles from where I live. I know the area, but not the town.

The town is Rockwood. Glen Alice is a few miles from Rockwood towards Spring City. Nothing there anymore. Just a Church and a cemetery.
