“... nor do I think that if she did, that she would win the nomination.”
And if so, that will be reason number one of about 5,000 why the gop needs to take it’s long overdue place in the dustbin of history.
That isn't about to happen - it simply can't and won't... main reason, building an alternative conservative party won't happen either. It has been repeatedly tried and failed.
What needs to happen is happening. The Tea Party, working within the GOP grassroots, is throwing their weight behind 'real' conservatives, and helping to get them elected. THAT has real possibilities toward moving the GOP rightward. All conservatives need to get out of the house and help in that process, as best they can - locally.
The best way to do that is to become part of the local GOP - and actually VOTE (monthly!) to help keep the RINO's out of power at the bottom of the party-ladder... keeping them from rising to the point where they can vote in conventions, meaning those in their own state - and nationally.
Cleansing the party on an ongoing basis stateside can go a very long way toward cleansing it nationally. Problem is, too many so-called conservatives just won't do more than talk a good-line here, while actually doing nothing where politics really matters - less than a half-hour away from where they live - and doing so on a monthly basis.
The real problem - that would take money, and time, away from talkers on FR - that a large majority of them wouldn't think of giving up.
