Follow the Fleet was extremely successful, and in 1936, Fred Astaire's recorded versions of movie songs-----"Let Yourself Go", "I'm Putting all My Eggs in One Basket", and "Let's Face the Music and Dance" ------ reached 3rd, 2nd, 3rd respectively in the US Hit Parade.
Fred and Ginger danced one of their most memorable iconic screen dances to "Let's Face the Music and Dance."
Harriet Hilliard (later of The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet TV show) and Tony Martin made their screen debuts and RKO borrowed Randolph Scott from Paramount for the second lead.

“Love em and leave em” ... Happens a lot — both ways — in the navy.

Funny. The wife and I watched the DVD of this one last night (I recently bought the complete Fred & Ginger set during an Amazon deal-of-the-day).

The Encore Western Channel at 7:00 PM has Marshall Matt Dillon {James Arness} in Gunsmoke.
It was made in the 60s so it's black and white, the good guy always wins and there is no foul language.
Matt never kisses the girl and Miss Kitty is a bar owner with a bunch of very nice "waitresses" that you never see going up the stairs.
The girls just keep the cowpokes company and offer moral support.

I love classic movies and TCM but you couldn’t pay me enough money to watch a musical.

In the 1940s, the Motion Picture Alliance for the Preservation of American Ideals, opposed to Communists in Hollywood, was organized by Walt Disney in support of the Hollywood blacklist (and anyone in Hollywood supporting the Communist Party).
The Alliance was supported by Hollywood conservatives: John Wayne, Hedda Hopper, Adolphe Menjou, Ward Bond, Robert Taylor, and Ginger Rogers.

I saw Harriet and the entire Nelson family in person back in the day. The whole family was good-looking.
