The Qatarra Depression looks modest enough on a two dimensional map, but did you ever get a good look at it from the air on Google Earth or something of that nature?

A lot of people forget that Rommel and Montgomery spent months fighting over that narrow strip of land between the depression and the coast precisely because it was impossible to do a flanking maneuver. It was only when the Americans got involved and Rommel had to spread out his forces defending two fronts that Montgomery broke through.

I think we both know what the Global Warming fascists would do if any serious proposal to dig the short ditch from the ocean to the northeast corner of the depression ever got underway but it would still be fun to expose the hypocrisy.
