Seriously I don't get the Texas derangement syndrome

We are adults and most on FR are very intelligent persons. I think we can decide if a candidate is right for us.
How about stop repeating the same Gardasil, Texas corridor, immigration stories over and over and over. Most have seen them by now if they have been paying attention. Most have judged the stories and condemn Perry to hell for them or they think that a president just might have different priorities than a state governor.
Screaming at us in all caps isn't going to change any minds. FR isn't the entire universe of voters. We are a very small pool of voters. If you're hell bent on trashing a candidate, it is likely that your efforts are wasted trying to persuade FR posters to change their minds about a candidate. Start standing out by the road with a sign telling your horror stories, pestering people in restaurants and buying billboards and advertising in newspapers and TV. You will have much more impact.
If you insist on cherry picking the negatives, can we do the same to you reviewing every decision and action that you have taken in your life? How would that work out for you? Honestly showing everything you have done, could you withstand the scrutiny?
I realize some of you insist that we are making a horrible mistake. The primary isn't until next year. Stop screaming. OK?
I’ve put the offer up numerous times for someone to take apart this research. No one has yet done so. It explains the reasoning behind Rick Perry’s most controvesial issues and criticisms. The author doesn’t assume or agree with everything he has done. It’s a little more in depth than the strictly hit and run bloggers.

I assume you mean “make sure the party hacks do NOT foist another RINO on us.” I wish I knew how to do that. I do know that the infatuation of the rank and file Republicans with Perry will lead to disaster for this nation, and I will fight against that. I am not in bed with any other candidate. I will be honest with you, as the Perrybots will not. I am disturbed with Cain for caving in to CAIR. I am unhappy with Palin for backing McCain and Perry. I am unhappy with Bachmann for fibbing about the “family reunion.” But none of these people compares with Perry, who has had no goal all his adult life but to be a career politician, angling and maneuvering, planting his allies in appointed positions, and building a power base. For all his “conservative” posturing, Perry is the model of the personality type which has led this nation into its present crisis. He is a phony. I’ve been around a long time; I recognize the type.
The timing of his conversion was very convenient. How better to rebrand one's self from 'Rat to Republican in the Bible Belt?
Yeah it’s getting old. But then that happens a lot on a number of subjects.
I think the most important thing, is for FReepers to vote for whomever becomes the Republican candidate on the ticket. The main goal is to get rid of Obama before he & his minions destroy this country.

She’s an ex-governor of a far away state, she can hunt moose with ease, she knows her way around the constitution, she loves America (as opposed to a jerk that lives in a white house who’s name I won’t mention), she has a great family, she is fiscally conservative, she is socially conservative, she is God-fearing, and she hasn’t declared -yet. :)

Explain why we should help elect a man that helped elect Al Gore, who in turn cost the world Trillions in cash, lost business, higher oil prices, asinine regulations and about a thousand other things. Had Gore lost in 88, he would not have had the chance to do the damage he did.
Until you do, I see no point in listening to anything you have to say. I have asked this before and you have yet to answer with anything substantial. I’d think better of a person of your professed academic stature.
