I have followed BM since..well lets just say a LONG time ago. It's been one of my ambitions to go. I know...most of the people there are not of the same political persuasion as me but I like the creativity, the artists and the coolness.

I am positive that even at our age Mrs p6 and I would fit in and have a great time.

Wish we could go. We're in Pittsburgh and pretty much tied down with grandkids and other commitments but one of these years!

Gonna be hotter than hell next week on the playa. Bring more water than you think you need. Also the store at Empire was closed last I heard so buy everything you need in Reno or Fernly. Bring LOTS of sun block and at least 50% more water than you think you will need.

I went the last two years. It is not as much of a hippy event as you would think.

I love some of the art displays out in the deep playa, also the art cars are my favorite, and you can sit in your camp and watch them come by.

Recommendations: I like those blue surgical masks, take a box of those with you. I get a box of 50 at Harbor Freight for about $6. Carry extras in your pocket to give to other people who get caught out in a dust storm.

Keep you feet well covered. The dust/sand there is very basic and is nasty on your feet.

Take a lot of differnt kinds of food. I never know what I will be hungry for out there.

Oh yeah, don’t forget ear plugs for sleeping, the music goes on all night.

Also if you are planning to stay for the “Burn” get up early the next morning and get out before the traffic gets heavy.
