I remember Fanta being hugely popular in Korea, along with Foremost Ice Cream. And since there is no “F” in Korean, it always came out “whuanta” and “whoremost.”

“A brewery once stood proud and profitable in Wilber, known far and wide as a true Czech beer with unmatched taste and quality.” From http://wilberbrewery.com/
“Wilber, the beer that made Milwaukee jealous,” remembered by my father who died in 1967, may be on the way back.

Big one missing: Smith Corona (typewriters). At the height, the most recognized brand on the planet. I was contracting there when it collapsed, struggling to retrofit LCD panels on typewriters to compete with spreadsheets, databases, games, etc.

The best candy bar ever; 5th Avenue made by Luedens.
It was bought by Hershey who ruined it. They left the almonds off the top.

You could have been the lucky owner of Meister Brau, Lucky Whip or General Cinemas.Meister Brau is gone?!?!? I drank gallons of that stuff through college.

Both are still alive and kicking in the upper Midwest.

Bite your tongue! I love me some Natty Boh!
There’s a restaurant around here that sold a Baltimore Martini - a glass of Natty Boh with Old Bay on the rim.
Nectar of the lesser gods...

Thanks for posting that picture!
When we bought our farm, the previous owner had towed an old Fotomat on the property and used it as a booth to serve chicken dinners when his church met here.
We have since re-roofed it, painted it, cleaned it up, and we use it as a little shop to sell fleece from our alpacas. It’s actually quite cute and has lots of window space.
The daggone thing was built to last...it will probably still be here after they drop The Big One...

Both of them deserved to die. When I was going to the University of Arizona, we had Carling Black Label (nasty) and A-1 (nastier). A-1 was brewed in Phoenix. T think they got the water from the Maricopa County sewage treatment plant.
