That’s a terrific idea. All it would take would be to get a couple of congressmen and /or senators on board and it might gain some traction.
They don’t want the food from the food bank. What would they do with cheese, beans, and rice?
They want their card so they can buy soda and hot dogs from the corner store.
The child in the video did not look hungry. Mom said he hadn’t eaten since breakfast. It looked like early afternoon in the video! Also, are there cupboards that empty with 1,000 dollar a month credit for food. Seems to me they would have a stock pile for emergencies.

Read Kevin Trudeau’s book Natural Cures. It all goes back to money. The processed foods and GMO’s cause them to eat more and crave more of the wrong foods. More food eaten, more money for the company. More obese people, more health care money.
I just googled “taxpayer appreciation day” and got a zillion hits. Obviously, a lot of people have come up with similar ideas. Even that assclown Ralph Nader tried to pervert the phrase by aiming it at the evil corporations.
I think what would be best would be an actual bill introduced in Congress... of course, the arts would insist that if such a day was offically named, government “workers” should get it as another paid holiday.
You know, FReepers, we look at strange events at borders and on planes as being “test runs”.
This event in Atlanta could be a test run to see what will happen in the cities, to see if shutting off benefits can be used as a social tool to effect the “total transformation of America” Obama promised us, and in some ways a warning message- “Push us too far and we’ll cut food stamp, EBT, WIC, and Section 8 benefits. We’ll be in our walled compounds with perimeter patrols and you’ll be out there in the Zombie Apocalypse”.
If you don’t have enough energy to get off of the $1000 credit for food, how would you gather the energy to prepare a stockpile of groceries for emergencies?
