Completely vetted, yes. Running for President, no.
Palin is a juggernaut of a power broker. She's trying to increase her power even further. That's a good thing for America. Her work to get freshmen elected is changing the country, and it's in large part thanks to her.
Perry's a three term governor of Texas. He's as vetted as Palin. And he's still in office. His record isn't perfect, but he's been in the big chair for over a decade. Say what you will, but Texas is doing markedly better than the rest of the country.
If you're doing the math, it's pretty clear who's more electable than who. That has nothing to do with the fire of conservatism in their hearts, and everything to do with their ability to navigate the elections process and hang in once you're there. Perry has it. Palin doesn't.
RINO sellout goodhair etc etc, yeah, I know. But you can only do so much from the sidelines. We need folks in the trenches, even if they're not perfect.
“First, dump the minimum wage — it is the equivalent of a respectable middle-class wage south of the border, and illegals’ legal competition for those jobs is made up of teen-agers and unskilled, uneducated folks who mostly have a bad work ethic. The minimum wage both invites the illegals here and employers to prefer them because they have a better work ethic. I know because I’ve worked beside illegals and will tell you outright that many times, I’d rather have the illegal alien who had a good attitude, showed up for work every day, was honest and trustworthy, and VALUED HIS JOB, as a co-worker, than a legal co-worker who was a drop-out with zero skills, an entitlement mentality, showed up for work sporadically, and was too young and/or stupid to value his job.”
So what you are saying is that in open competition, the folks who are working harder and doing a better job are getting the jobs? I don’t have a problem with this.
If you’re one of the entitlement mentality folks, then by all means. The reality is that the cost of labor would immediately spike, and businesses would simple close rather then hire these folks. Especially if they need to get more productivity per worker just to close the gap between what they now need to make.
Eliminating the minimum wage wouldn’t have the effect you desire. The same people who are working these jobs now, would stay in these jobs, and the people who are out of work would stay out of work.
What would happen is that even more people would want to come and there would be even more opportunities in America to get these positions ahead of the folks who aren’t willing to work.
Hate? How old are you? My young children used to talk that way.
Are you one of Rich's college volunteers???
Can anyone tell me what exactly Perry has done to secure the border besides sit on his butt and cry to Washington?
If you have to tear down Palin in order to raise up your candidate you’ve already lost.
As for Palin, if/when she declares, the game is completely changed. And more electable? If that's what you're basing your choice on, then enjoy voting for the lesser of two evils. I did that in 2008. Never again.
Anyone But Obama is not a strategy... it's a shout of desperation, and follows the same bull the libs did in 2004 with Kerry. That turned out real well for them, didn't it?
Somebody that knows Perry stopped a sanctuary city bill...that Perry fought for in special session? Oh, my. STRING HIM UP!!!!
He also uses chick stuff on his face. I say we hang him.
That’s why he’s been elected for the last 27 YEARS.
Just sayin'
I started nothing NOTHING. Get a grip on your poor self, whoever you *are*.
There is no difference in what she did and what Perry did. “Get real.” They are all politicians.
The majority of the state’s voters would disagree. So would the majority of national voters come election time. Perry 2012!
Perry to host Muslim sect's spiritual leader - April 11, 2008
Texas Gov. Rick Perry plans to host a private dinner followed by fireworks near Austin on Saturday to honor the Aga Khan, a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad celebrating his 50th year as the spiritual leader of a Muslim sect.
There is a great deal of difference and you know it. Otherwise you wouldn’t be attacking her.
Bravo!
Not all Texas FReepers agree with you.
Take it up with Jim if you have a gripe. I pinged him to my post.
You're the one calling others *haters*, and FR doesn't cotton much to haters. We are the premiere conservative forum. We support *conservatives* candidates and are free to chopose our own favorties.
Governor Perry has not received even 5% of the vetting, bashing, slashing, and trashing by the lamestream and I dare say by some former FReepers here, along with some current ones, so again, *get a grip* and take your complaints to the Boss!
Try to be part of the solution, instead of the problem!
Hiya good FRiend! Good to see you again!
WELCOME!
