"The Undefeated," the documentary about Sarah Palin, appears to have suffered box office defeat.
The film opened in 10 locations last week and upped its exposure to 14 cities this weekend. But Reuters today reports that even as the number of screening venues increased, box office revenue has declined by more than 63 percent. It grossed only $24,000 this past weekend.

We have a 2nd!
Exactly. I'm a huge admirer of Palin, but I have no desire to see this or any other documentary.
IMHO, how well - or poorly - this film does says nothing about today's political climate.
I never understood why this was released in theaters. It doesn’t surprise me that there was no audience. And as other posters point out, that doesn’t have much to do with whether or not we support Palin. I support her but I don’t want to pay to see a movie about her candidacy and life.
And I say you are overrating Patrick1’s intelligence.
I am not interested in seeing a documentary at the movie about a politician, but will enjoy watching when it comes around on regular TV. Palin will be ok, she is a good person right now to get support from.
I predict the DVD will do well.
Story is that Bannon already plan on making it a pay-per-view, DVD release from the very beginning, he said it to Real Clear Politics when the news of it was revealed in May....it’s not like he suddenly woke up this Sunday and said “quick, get it on TV, I’m losing money”
Second of all, there are only like 16-20 theaters, not cities, or states that are carrying the movie with NO advertisement other than online buzz.....they are expanding the nation wide roll out slowly to other cites this week and announcements will continue for the next two months (August and September) in Theaters
A) The “worshipper” charge is genuine slander. Accusing Christians of worshipping a human is accusing them of idolatry, a sin more heinous than any of the other Ten Commandments, bar none. You make Maher look like a choir boy.
B) The “worshipper” charge is hypocritical, because in the PDS universe, being “enthusiastic” about any given candidate isn’t worship, unless it’s Palin, only then is it worship. Double Standard = Hypocrisy.
C) Apples to apples, please. Palin is not a Hollywood actor with a big ad budget trying to make a buck convincing people she is a football player or a cowboy or the caretaker of a chimpanzee. She’s a real, small town hockey mom who never figured on all the hoopla. Read her book. Her team never figured on anything but a classy series of YouTube videos. This movie was produced on a shoestring, marketed on half a shoe string, and given to her as a gift, and it will have an electoral impact, regardless of box office performance.
D) A rapid move to digital distribution was always a part of the Bannon plan, presented to a small cadre of Palin activists well before the theatrical release. I know because I was part of the social media context in which this whole scheme was laid out months ago. You may not wish to accept this, but it is true that at each step in this progression, there have been no surprises if you’ve been listening to Bannon & company from the beginning.
I like below average politicians, who are for real, instead of slick ones who only think of themselves and getting reelected.
I’m conservative, I never go to the movies. I haven’t seen more movies than you can count.
There isn’t a screen showing within 300 miles of Detroit, but I will purchase the DVD, which is what I was planning to do from the start. I haven’t been in a theater for five years.
Hmm. It showed in 1 theater in Georgia - 60 miles away, and with gas prices what they are, I only travel that distance if absolutely necessary.
However, I’ll definitely watch PPV and have also ordered a copy from SarahPac.
not 1 cent of mine will go to Hollywood.
I predict that when the dust settles, this movie will be up there with Citizen Kane and Casablanca... ...What say ye, Palin worshippers? We loved it. It was much better than Cats. We WERE going to see it again and again. Now what are we going to do? |
If you want off my ping list get over it!
Put it on itunes!!!!
Pretty much same here. Not so interested in the film but will sure support her if she runs.
The media peed all over themselves with joy over this news.

Movie Review: ‘The Undefeated’
Essentially a Sarah Palin infomercial masquerading as a documentary, the film wavers between depicting her as a victim in need of backup and a strong leader worthy of devotion.
