The majority of teenage girls feel upset and lonely when they are deprived of access to the telephone, according to consumer research.

I did the above research 30 years ago, and came to similar conclusions to the study. And I did it without spending taxpayer funds... :0)

No one is "deprived." If welfare (unemployed by choice, once a monthers) can get a free computer and Internet access without lifting a finger, there's no reason why people shouldn't have two or three accesses.
"Deprived" my butt. No more free handouts. Working people can't afford to pay for them anymore.

Well, internet access IS a ‘basic human right’, now, you know...

That’s weird.

I usually feel pretty good when deprived of the Internet.
Of course that usually happens when I go on vacation and leave my computer behind. My only remaining “connections” are my Kindle and my cell phone, neither of which I really use for browsing. (My wife, however, is a wiz at browsing using both.)

The best place of all is the Ojo Caliente resort (http://ojocalientesprings.com/): no wi-fi, no TV or cable, no telephone, no cell reception.

Just me and my wife steaming in the Iron Spring.

I just can’t feel any better than that!

Yeah. It’s called Internet Addiction Syndrome.

They have a cure for it. A course you can take. It is... online.

LOL. We are all addicted to technology. I get uneasy when I don’t have my cell phone, yet until the past decade, I didn’t have one.
