Hook me up with a practical stirling engine?
I wish we owned some old engines. We generally go as spectators. I do a lot of steam boilers, and have an interest in the old ones, which leads me to an interest in steam locomotives and steam farm equipment, just as a hobby.
This year we are doing a demonstration for my sons state science fair. We found some old manuals that discussed different wood to use in boilers, what types not to use etc, and he thought it would be interesting to compare them with a caloric counter, then we had a friend who runs a corn-burner for fuel in the winter in his barn, and he got in on it, and he wants to test some corn types vs. wood.
So, our local college is gonna help out with the equipment to run the tests.
I know they sell Stirling kits, in just about any size you might want, and they have a flea market at the show, but otherwise, I sadly wouldn’t have a line on anything like that, other than retail.
