Imagine someone wanting to go home to their family after 6 weeks of being sequestered. the HORROR
Indeed! We shouldn't have expected them to do their due dilligence by going over any evidence. Afterall, they'd already been there for such a long time. /s
I was watching when the jurors left the courtroom for their first deliberations, several of them didn't even bother to take their notebooks with them. The judge had have someone gather them up for the jurors.
I really think there a lot of anger because the jury was so quick to come back and they never asked to look over a single piece of testimony or evidence. It really did appear that they were just tired of being there. What a great reason on which to base a verdict...
Oh, and in answer to an earlier question of yours to another poster....I'd love to serve on a jury, they just won't pick me. I called in for an entire month, went in at the beginning and again at the end of that month and still didn't get picked for any of the juries.
First of all they knew this was going to be the case. Secondly it does not negate their responsibilities as jurors. A friend of mine was on a murder case. She was shocked and angered by some juror’s attitude. They wanted to go home, a lot of fighting in the room and power plays going on. She always wanted to serve on one, but would eat glass before doing it again. The stress was overwelming she said.
