Not really. While I'm not suggesting this is my theory, if the death was the result of negligence on Casey's part, she may have wished to stage it to look like an abduction and murder...ergo, the post-mortem use of duct tape.

Or perhaps someone wanted the skull to remain intact knowing that the mandible would separate after decomposition in hopes of identification of the remains at some point in the future they put the tape there. A nurse would understand that wouldn’t they? Who was the nurse?
