I was at our city's Independence Day bash tonight, and as my heart became uplifted by all of the displays of unabashed patriotism, I thought to myself, "wouldn't it be nice if every day could be the 4th of July?"
I was reminded of a quote from Ronald Reagan, where he said that "for conservatives, every day is the 4th of July..." Few Americans have loved this country as much as he did.
Think I'll go out and find a new Old Glory decal for the back window of my truck tomorrow. The old one is cracked and faded now. A lot of folks probably don't even notice it anymore, but I know she's there.
