Good Morning to all. Closing Arguments are today.
I apologize in advance if you were either left off today's ping list or included in error. I am not at home and forgot to forward my pinglist to my friend's house, so I've had to check some older threads and reconstruct as many names as possible. If I missed you I'm sorry.
I probably won't be able to post much on this thread, but after I am home I will keep my ear to the television/radio for the jury decision, and will ping again when I hear so we can have a discussion thread.
Let me know if you want on or off the ping list.
Nothing that came up as a result of the search quotes him as saying this at amy sidebar.
“If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts. If you have the law on your side, pound the law. If you have neither on your side, pound the table.”
Yes - that’s it. It didn’t sound right my way but I couldn’t pin it down. Is it any wonder after this?
I googled it and it’s clear to me that he cares about convictions....ie that they are clean and not reversible......you are exaggerating.
It is also in the Chicago tribune article. Put ( judge perry wants conviction). it should come up. It does on my Imac.
Please. Are you stuck on stupid? Strike that. But Hello?
If you want to go to law school and become a lawyer, you might want to start now to drop the cutesy derogatory nicknames for judges.
This trial would have been a mistrial had he actually said what you are claiming he did. How is your reading comprehension? It looks questionable to me. I don’t believe it.
Her parents should have used common sense and tough love, in raising Casey.
My son stole a lollypop for his girlfriend from a convenience store when he was four. I brought him back to the store, made him return what he hadn’t paid for, and let the manager ‘give it to him’. (He told my son that “if you take something that does not belong to you - you are a thief. You know where thieves go? They go to jail, and will be behind bars forever, and never see their mommy or daddy again.”)
I know, it was very rough - much rougher than I thought it should be - but my son never stole another thing in his life, after that.
When my children started to tell little lies, I immediately confronted them, telling them that only mommies and daddies could tell if they were lying - because their tongue would turn black. I would ask them to show me their tongue, and if they stuck it out real fast, and quickly pulled it back in - they were hoping we wouldn’t notice the black color - but if they were telling the truth, they would stick it all the way out, and hold it there. (This only worked for about a year, when they were really young - but they never lied again in their lives.)
Now my children are grown, with children of their own, and they have used the same techniques on their own kids - and have thanked me for keeping them ‘straight’ in their childhood.
Aren’t the judge’s rules of decorum applicable to jurors? The behavior you describe shows behavior and a bias that jurors are not supposed to exhibit.
Please - stop that. Tioga is my friend. Do not attack.
Perhaps if the defense hadn’t frittered away hours and hours until going on 7 in the evening, the prosecution would have been forced to the rebuttal today.
It works both ways, you know.
The judge was right to recess because the jury aren’t slaves and need to be refreshed with some dinner and rest.
Did you catch Baez today claiming George was a bad father because he didn’t lie under oath to save Casey? I almost screamed when I heard that - so to him lying under oath proves your love.
OK but i am just trying to explain that these things are not what they appear to be. I will post an apology.
I heard a person being interviewed on Nancy Grace say something that REALLY made me stop and think.
Paraphrasing here: "Caylee was growing up to the point of being able to talk and maybe start to tell things that were happening to her."
I am sorry I attacked you.
“”We can even see the Disneyland fireworks in the distance if the night is clear enough.””
That’s not fair. We moved from CA 5 years ago to GA and of all the holidays, miss the 4th of July most of all. We are so surrounded by trees here, we can’t even see a sunrise or sunset. I wanted to get away from concrete and cement and we accomplished that for sure.
We used to live in Costa Mesa and streets were blocked off for the 4th and people set their fireworks off in the streets - one of the few cities that hadn’t outlawed them at the time.
We walked to the bluffs through the smoke and haze (like a war zone) between Costa Mesa and Huntington Beach, sat on the grass at a park and watched the fireworks displays all over the basin - again like you say, if it was a clear night. We could see up to Pacific Palisades, to Disneyland, Knotts and anything in between.
Enjoy the show for me and think of us buried in trees in GA. AND don’t forget the HEAT!
I really believe that is Casey speaking. I think that is why Cindy lied.
You don’t love Casey unless you lie for her. Could be why all the blame has been directed at George. Could also be that George wanted her to get a different attorney.
Baez does not impress me. His choice as a defense was ridiculous and he had nothing to prove it.
If we go to the right spot we can see the LegoLand fireworks, Sea World, and the fireworks in the Bay!
I miss being able to do our own. At least when the kids were little we could.
Thank you.
Thank you.
