The scene in “Soylent Green” where Edward G. Robinson has drank the poison at the suicide center and Charlton Heston breaks in to see him while viewing the film of an unpolluted earth. Still chokes me up for some reason.

That was a great scene.

One story has it that Robinson told Heston immediately prior to filming it that he was dying of cancer. He passed away 12 days later.

Another great movie about a man facing his mortality is “The Shootist”.
