Little trivia for you.........Edward G. Robinson was actually dying of cancer when “Soylent Green” was in production. The only person who knew this was (the late) Charlton Heston, the two having been good friends since way before (from “The Ten Commandments”, if I recall correctly).

The tears you see Mr. Heston crying are real, not acting.....for me, elevating that scene into the realm of cinematic legend.
