This scene, when I saw it for the first time as a kid, cut deep, still moves me today:

There is a scene in ‘Dragonfly’ where Kevin Kostner figures out that his wife died but gave life to their daughter at the hands of the primitives who pulled the wife from the river that is particularly poignant for me.
Lucky you! Bet that was just beautiful. I was sorry that film wasn't more popular, but at the time I think it was considered more of a "chick flick".
I scroll through 159 posts before finding what I was looking for. “Taking Chance” tore me up as well, in many scenes.

Mackinac Island is beautiful. No cars just horse and buggy allowed. The hotel truly lives up to the name Grand. You do feel as if you have stepped back in time. I loved it.
Little trivia for you.........Edward G. Robinson was actually dying of cancer when “Soylent Green” was in production. The only person who knew this was (the late) Charlton Heston, the two having been good friends since way before (from “The Ten Commandments”, if I recall correctly).
The tears you see Mr. Heston crying are real, not acting.....for me, elevating that scene into the realm of cinematic legend.

Amadeus when Salieri is looking at Mozart’s music and realizing they are originals with no corrections. “It’s as if he was just taking dictation from God.”
I like this movie but not as much as my oldest son. For confirmation he chose Amadeus as his third name. He is Joseph Michael Amadeus, a graphic artist with much talent.
The end of the original True Grit (with the Duke), where Maddie says she wants him to be buried next to her.....gets me every time.
Yeah.....great scene.
Or at the end, where Salieri pronounces himself the Patron Saint of Mediocrity, and absolves the priest, and the other inmates of the madhouse; and then we hear Mozarts laughter. Great way to end a film! I’m hit or miss with Milos Forman, but when he gets it right, he hits it out of the ballpark.
The end of both Gladiator and Braveheart choked me up.
Rudy - I cried when Georgia Tech lost.
Don’t forget about the tearjerker scene in A New Hope when Vader flees the Yavin system in a TIE fighter after all his buddies have died on the Death Star.
You can’t see it, but I bet he’s crying his eyes out underneath the mask.

I looked at IMDB, and the story I wrote is a little different; I’d heard that Mr. Heston did indeed know that Edward G. Robinson was actually dying, but it’s a little different on IMDB. Nonetheless, it certainly doesn’t distract from the emotional power of the scene.
Still makes me get choked up.

Both moments make me cry like a school girl.
The Gospel of John (the movie)- (john 16 & 17 part)Jesus’ talk to the apostles when his time was near, something about that part touched me.
The scene in An Affair To Remember when Cary Grants character finds out why she couldn’t meet him...as she is laid up on the couch.
The scene in Braveheart when Muroh is about to be killed by the English soldier, she looks all around for William Wallace but he is nowhere in sight to save her.
All the scenes with James Garners character and his wife in The Notebook.
Just to name a few that came to the top of my head.
