Then do you consider Obamacare, welfare, etc, "legitimate" despite their being clearly unconstitutional?
Legitimate, yes. Righteous, no.
As a nation, we have many people who desire those programs. I suspect most who promote them are not fully considering the full costs and implied consequences of those programs, but instead myopically focus on their immediate benefits.
As a nation, though, those foolish decisions must be managed, thought through, and fully understood by those who gave them legitimacy for them to righteously understand why they are so foolish.
A wrong thing done is a wrong fashion is wrong. A right thing done in a wrong fashion is wrong. A wrong thing done in a wrong fashion is wrong. The only way to have a righteous action performed is to perform it in a right fashion.
Many ships get mothballed, because it is a least cost solution to manage a temporary lower priority requirement for those ships in managing a DoD budget. If those attacking the mothballed ship policies were accurate in their accusations of malfeasance, DoD managers would have scrapped the ships many years ago. The decisions to mothball ships are not always simple, but simple decisions may have been made resulting in the mothballing. Those trespassing are in no position to have the information available to discern one way or another.
They also have unwittingly aided and abetted enemies of the US, who might not have been able to well assess how prepared these ships might retrofitted in an emergency.
This trespassers are not patriots of the US, but are liars and criminals. At best they are corrupt, but with their unrepentant attitude they lack virtue.
