DONATIONS????

As you open your pockets For the next natural disaster, Keep these facts in mind:

The American Red Cross President and CEO Marsha J. Evans salary for the year was $651,957 plus expenses

The United Way President Brian Gallagher receives a $375,000 base salary along with numerous expense benefits. They give to illegals I will not give to them.

UNICEF CEO Caryl M. Stern receives $1,200,000 per year (100k per month) plus all expenses including a ROLLS ROYCE . Less than 5 cents of your donated dollar goes to the cause

The Salvation Army's Commissioner Todd Bassett receives a salary of only $13,000 per year (plus housing) for managing this $2 billion dollar organization. 96 percent of donated dollars go to the cause.

The American Legion National Commander receives a $0.00 zero salary. Your donations go to help Veterans and their families and youth!

The president of Planned Abortionhood, Cecile Richards, gets $385,163 per year. That's about $1 per abortion.

I find it hard to believe, but my late father-in-law said he personally saw the Red Cross charging Servicemen for blood in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was on a Destroyer Escort (DE) and always gave generously to Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army helps illegals too; they do not discriminate.

Good to know. (Although, that would be in the ‘unnatural’ disasters category).

We need to know how much all the evil cretins are paid to ruin our country.....from taxpayers!!!!

....as many VN vets will tell you.
When I was discharged and came home, I was met at the McGuire terminal by two “hosts”..American Red Cross which charged $2.50 for a sandwich and a coke....and FREE coffee and donuts by the Salvation Army.

Direct help. Like I said, they do not discriminate. They do not ask for documentation.

I’m not too concerned about the executive officer of a large organization receiving a commensurate salary. What is much more important is the other figures on the balance sheet such as the % of the charity’s income actually paid out for the stated purpose of the charity, how much lost as fund raising expenses, general overhead, etc.

I’d agree though with the point of the email. The Salvation Army gives you pretty much the best return on your charitable contribution.

When I was on active duty, we had access to a book that listed not only every charity that a person could tareget thru the Combined Federal Campaign, but also the charity’s main goals and the percentage of the donation that actually went to the intended “helpee”. There was one group, the Red River Foundation (or words to that effect) which set up college scholarships for the dependents of MIA/KIA. They had only volunteer labor, so 100% of the donations went to the cause.

Regarding Red Cross - One year they admitted that funds requested after a major natural disaster are not actually targeted to that disaster. ‘Nuff said.

***They do not ask for documentation.***

Another failure of the FED GOVT to protect our borders. I’m quite sure the same FED GOVT examines the SA financial records for a NON-Profit entity.

The SA “doing the work the welfare state is incapable of doing”.

Right... United way, NEVER.

Right out of college I interviewed with them for a position in our community.

I was not hired BUT...the woman who got the job was a Doctor's wife from three counties away... WHERE SHE CONTINUED TO LIVE and they gave her 80K

I NEVER give to them. I WILL give to the Salvation army and VFW

I usually give a ton of clothes to Purple Heart. Now I am wondering if they give a large % to what they are suppose to?

IIRC it was back in the 70’s when United Way managed to coerce employers into forcing employess to donate by payroll deductions. Deduction forms would be distributed by management and most workers were too embarrassed to refuse to sign up. United Way organization was pretty smart by going directly to large companies and seducing them with puffed up “Citations for Charitable Contributions”...although it was the poor working stiffs who gave the money.

Because your personal experience “right out of college” when you interviewed for an 80k job and didn’t get it, should be what guides the rest of us in our eleemosynary impulses.

The federal failure to physically protect our borders is a serious error. The federal failure to root out illegal social security number uses and large scale employer violations is another serious error. Everything else is pretty much state and local. The sheriff for example ought to come to the flea market and ask the illegals that are vending bootleg for ID. I don’t think it is the federal govt’s job to root through the Salvation Army’s detailed records to the specific persons they help.

Ditto that. Toys for tots is another one of mine. 98 plus % goes directly to the kids. And,it’s fun.
