I just know what a grand PIA these things can be and at my age I don’t need anything else to aggravate me. Tying up a 10 mile route for an hour each way smacks too much to me of a society with royalty, not elected leaders who serve at the pleasure of the citizens.

Since Sarah doesn't have Secret Service protection, it's highly unlikely that the police would have held traffic up for her for any length of time. But even if she asked, and the police decided to assist her through traffic, the fact that there are only 2 SUVs and 1 bus in the 'caravan', it certainly wouldn't create a traffic backup for more than 5 minutes or so.

I've been in a traffic back up for the President, when it was GWB, on I-80 in PA. The traffic HAD to be held up for security reasons, and we realized that. We sat there for an hour or so. Yeah, it was annoying, but it wasn't life-threatening, so we dealt with it.

Your "concern" has been well noted by the Freepers as is the "source" of your news.
