Nope...the Hebrews never claimed the land of the Edomites. They fought them, traded with them, and even intermarried, but never claimed their land. Like the land of the Amonites, it was a recognized non-Hebrew land in the bible and not what Yahweh promised them.
And, there's no oil there. (;-D
