It's fun to tie up your entire world view into a neat hierarchy, but that's just not how people operate.
Trump was horrifically burned by his handling of the BC issue. Burned by NBC / his sponsors, which were going to pull the plug on Apprentice. Burned in public in the correspondent's dinner. Burned in the media for being 'racist'.
For whatever his motives to go after Obama, it was clearly personal and original to him. The idea he would subject himself to that sort of abuse on behalf of someone else goes against 25 years of Trump's public persona.
Obama is a buffoon, shielded and aided by the media. He's not some octopus mastermind, with tentacles reaching everywhere, controlling every little aspect of anything that might affect him. Corsi is imagining everything through a certain lens, which distorts every fact until it fits his conclusion.
Trump was the butt of 90% of the jokes at that press club dinner. I doubt he set himself up for love of Obama.
I think the press’s response to him shocked him and that’s why he dropped out.

Both your statements indicate you believe that Jerome Corsi must have a preconceived idea or theory before writing or speaking about Obama. But that is not what Corsi does as a researcher and writer.
For myself, I had no preconceived ideas about Obama when he was running in 2008. I began researching his past without a ‘lens’ and no theory in mind. Until I discovered the July, 2007, efforts that the Democratic Party made to hide Obama’s past as Barry Soetoro in Indonesia, it never occurred to me that the man may have a questionable past. I mean, for God’s sake! He left Indonesia at 10 years of age! Why hide anything?
Corsi is doing an admirable job of uncovering Obama’s past. Throwing brick a’ bats is insulting to his professionalism.
