Trump was horrifically burned by his handling of the BC issue. Burned by NBC / his sponsors, which were going to pull the plug on Apprentice. Burned in public in the correspondent's dinner. Burned in the media for being 'racist'.
For whatever his motives to go after Obama, it was clearly personal and original to him. The idea he would subject himself to that sort of abuse on behalf of someone else goes against 25 years of Trump's public persona.
Obama is a buffoon, shielded and aided by the media. He's not some octopus mastermind, with tentacles reaching everywhere, controlling every little aspect of anything that might affect him. Corsi is imagining everything through a certain lens, which distorts every fact until it fits his conclusion.
It would've been to Obama's benefit to continue drawing out the birth certificate issue and watching Republican candidates squirm and give mealy-mouthed half-answers every time they're asked if they think the President was born in Hawaii. Then, next September or October after various States have passed birther bills and every candidate was on the record regarding Obama's birth certificate, he'd release his long form and make the whole issue look silly.
Releasing it now only helps Republicans, taking this absurd conspiracy off the table and giving them the opportunity to say that the issue has been settled. For this, we can thank Trump.

It’s quite possible that Trump WAS working with the White House, and was expecting that they would be releasing a genuine birth certificate. In other words, Ubama’s posse lied to Trump, and he got sucked in. Now he realizes that he was played for a fool (or useful idiot).

I’ve viewed the Apr 27 birth certificate and it is certainly a fake. I also noticed that there is no official seal on it. I am certain that was done on purpose so that no one could be charged for falsifying the document and also allow Barry to claim that he had no idea it was a forgery. By putting a fake document out there and be analyzed by the pajama media, it allows the administration to see how much more detail they need to release the next “this is the real BC” document. You can guarantee that the next version won’t have layers, gray scale mixed with binary, wont have halos, different font sizes, etc.
Ih other words, the BC was put out there on purpose so that Barry could see what they were up against. It was a decoy.
