I agree in part, but how about simple plywood for sides etc. Boggies would be wrong but the shape would look more realistic. Hollywood was pretty good at that when they wanted to. I often thought of that for Battle of the Bulge and Patton. Really grated to see U.S tanks fighting each other.

We are talking about older movies here but this should not be a problem from now and into the future of film making as they can now make tanks (or anything) digitally and make as many as they want and do anything they want them to do.
