Russian has 5 genders.

Russian has THREE genders.

Gotta whole sack of cases, though. That class was 35 years ago, so let's see how many I remember - nominative, genitive, dative...nope, I'm stuck. I think there were six altogether.

A quick review of Russian genders and cases. Your memory on the number of cases is correct. I haven't attempted to learn Russian. Polish is on my list if NATO ever offers to set up shop in Poland. I was amused over the weekend to find my Welsh vocabulary exceeded the coverage of a dictionary at the local Barnes & Noble...at least for the words I was seeking.

Actually, Russian does have 5 genders. Have a look at the grammatical genders. Russian has Masculine, Feminine, Neuter, Common (dual concord model), Reciprocal (one concord model).
