Nobody is willing to touch this. Nobody in the GOP, the courts, the congress, computer forensic experts, the mainstream media, the alternative media (Jo$eph Farah notwithstanding), law enforcement, the military, the post office, the Boy Scouts of America, etc. Nobody. Trump grabbed on to it, and blew himself to smithereens. Nobody's trying to follow in his footsteps.
Most Americans don't pay close attention, and see the issue as murky, inconclusive and somewhat racist. It's red meat to the left and the right, but unattractive to the middle.
So, absent any way to use this information in a way that's a net gain for the purpose of defeating Obama in 2012, then no, it's not a big deal at all.

I think this is more NBC covering obama’s back than anything. Obviously, Trump is a showman and the Apprentice is turned out to be more important to him than running for president but you could make the argument that NBC threatened him not to run and to drop the BC issue or “you’re fired”.
