In the meantime, tornado victims in the Midwest (USA) are already having to fight off looters.

Another great testament to the way the Japanese people have come together to help each other out in this time of great crisis. I am close to this situation through a longtime Japanese-American friend who has lived in Japan with her family for many years now, and she regularly tells of the admirable way that the Japanese have conducted themselves through this tragedy — despite what some ignorant fools here (such as the person who declared “JAPAN’S GOT NOTHING ON ALABAMA!!!” ) would want others to believe. The Japanese, as well as the tornado victims in the US, have been in my thoughts. God bless them both.
