Donald Trump slammed Robert De Niro Monday, following the Oscar-winner’s criticisms of him this weekend, telling Fox News that the actor is “not the brightest bulb on the planet.”

“I like his acting, but in terms of when I watch him doing interviews and various other things, we’re not dealing with Albert Einstein,” Trump told “Fox & Friends” Monday. “He can say what he wants but the fact is that this guy has not revealed his birth certificate, a lot of people agree with me.”

Pot calling kettle black. Neither of them seem very bright. Trump would be nowhere without his dad’s money. Fred trump was a self made man not Donald.

It’s good that trump is staying with the birther issue as that seems to be his focus. Another interesting thing is trump gets sucked into these petty squabbles with Oprah, actors, rove and others. He lacks discipline in that regard. Jerry springer style campaign. Entertaining to some but demeans the political process. But of course after obama what do we expect? A turd could run and if people thought it might defeat obama some would grab ahold of it.

"In these days where more young people get their news from Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" and form their world view from what they hear celebrities spout on about, it does matter."

Would those be the same young people that never vote? Sure, there was a slight uptick in the 2008 Presidential election of young people voting for "the cool black guy". Even, I'm ashamed to say one of my kids who claims to be conservative. But since that same "cool black guy" has been President while they can't find a job, I suspect they won't be coming out in the same numbers for him in 2012.

I think that those FReepers that assured us THIS MORNING that Trump would never respond to this attack, owe Trump a big old butt kissing apology... that’s what I think.

Guess De Niro and Trump couldn’t come to terms over Celebrity Apprentice season 8! Heard Trump was going to get A-listers for his best season yet!

” What is the fascination with a segment of America who cannot stay in a relationship for more than a year, spends a good bit of time in rehab for substance abuse, dropped out of college to wait on tables, persuing an acting career, are unable to manage their own finances, need agents to navigate agreements and sell their “brand”, are usually on a suspended driver’s license, and have tiger’s blood coursing thru their veins along with halidol, morphine, and amphetamines to keep upright? “

And who make their living being someone else.....

Which is why the MSM - Williams - manufactured the Deniro event - no need to ask him about anything but acting, and his film festival. But they knew they could get a good quote out of him.

I’m on the edge of my seat, with my hands cupped behind my ears, waiting for The Donald’s reply to Glenn McCoy;s cartoon in today’s WashTimes. Many have expressed suspicions that Trump is merely another Ross Perot, aiming to split the Republican vote in order to ensure another term for BHO. McCoy very cleverly portrayed that picture in a cartoon.

Also, there was the audio Glenn Beck played this morning of Trump fielding a question from someone in the audience at one of his appearances, querying Trump about George Soros, and Trump dodged the question. I wonder if Soros’ putting up serious $$$$ for Trump to complete his Chicago Trump Tower could have ANYTHING to do with his DODGING the question? Ver-r-r-r-ry Inter-r-r-r-resting!

Trump and Walker are demonstrating the winning formula agains the Mainstream - just say the truth, straight out.

“We can’t afford this union contract”.
“Deniro is an actor” etc

The first person to catch on to just responding to Washington and its media with common sense - will be the next President.

If what you say were to be the truth... which it is most certainly not... then Bush would have gained in popularity following the rovian theory of never defending against any attacks no matter how outrageous or who made those attacks. History proves your theory absolutely wrong. It led directly to obama's election.

He has a genius for knowing peoples sore spots. DeNiro has always had a phobia about doing interviews and what does Trump bring up? Interviews! LOL! Same with Rosie O’Donnell, she had a hang up about being lesbian, and what does he do? He calls her a “pervert”! OWW! And it was right after that she went into hiding (and I think she still is). The guy just totally absolutely destroys his enemies.

I wouldn’t vote for him for president but I love what he’s doing and how he’s doing it. He makes no apologies and he sticks with his point.

"History proves your theory absolutely wrong. It led directly to obama's election."

Typical straw man argument. Build up an argument I never made and attack that. First off, I'm tired of hearing that Bush led to Obama's election. Juan McCain led to Obama's election. If we would not have put up Bob Dole reincarnated to run against him, if we would have had a solid conservative to run against Obama, we could have won. Secondly, I never said you don't answer your critics as Bush almost slavishly refused to do. I said you don't answer these small time political lightweights. As President, if you answer back against everyone who says anything bad about you, you will never talk about anything else. It demeans the office of the Presidency, lowers yourself and raises up your lightweight enemy. When Harry Reid stands up in the well of the Senate and says the war is lost, you go after him!! You attack him for all you got. When a bozo actor who probably didn't even vote in the last election criticizes you, you don't waste your time.
