Take a look at the Ruhr Dam bombing run during ‘The Dam Busters’ and you will find nearly all the grist for the Death Star attack at the end of ‘Star Wars’.
Though ‘633 Squadron’ is a very decent war flick. One of the best ‘Mossie’ films made. The Technical/Boffin end (The Skip Bomb development and using spotlights for gauging low altitude) puts ‘Dam Busters’ in the Classic/Near Classic realm.

That scene was a direct lift from The Dam Busters, a Brit WWII flick that was playing on the background television while Pink lost his mind in “The Wall.”
