The typical MSM move is to show the COLB and say, 'See! Obama has shown his birth certificate!'

Only Trump has stood his ground and said, 'No, that's a certificate of live birth. it's not a birth certificate. Where's the actual birth certificate?'

I’ll translate the populist talk. If you go to war against a nation, you seek reparations for the cost of the war. The World War I and II Allies sought and got reparations from Germany and Japan. It’s nothing new. Germany finally paid off the Treaty of Versailles to the Allies in October, 2010 after 92 years. The US should have at least got a good oil deal from Iraq for our efforts.

Reagan was solidly steeped in conservative thought and demonstrated this over many years of writing and speeches prior to becoming President. Trump has shown not the slightest hint that he even has a clue what conservative/libertarian ideology is all about.

And if Reagan had a populist streak in him at all, it was from a right of center perspective. Trump sounded no different than Obama on unemployment, infrastructure, etc. Infact, were he not throwing around the birther stuff, Trump could just as easily be a disgruntled progressive running against Obama from the left.

That is a long way from declaring your going to seize Iraq's second biggest oil fields.

The problem here is the US made a distinction going in between the Iraqi's and their government, therefore declaring after the fact that we demand reparations is not so easy to do. We made no such distinctions in WWI and WWII, and could impose whatever penalties we wanted on them after the fact.
